In my defense, they had their location in their bio.

I found them, last active on the internet not too long ago :)

That’s an estimate, by the way.

Also it’s not official that they are the person I originally was looking for. The chances are a 50/50 (never tell me the chances? ST ref? Sorry I’m immature)

I started out with their Wattpad page (disappeared during the pandemic, promising to write more, was never seen again) moving to their linktree onto insta, followings (nothing found there) and their personal account linked in their bio.

The insta account is now private, are they onto me? No idea. I got a good look at it though, dare I say I miss that page? It was awfully creative.

WAIT NEVERMIND.

I just remembered the persons desk EUGH their DESK! Gosh, so many books! I love reading but DANG!?

No judgment.

Moving on.

We then walk down to a post where they’re journaling or maybe annotating a book? I forgot, I wish I could go back and see but I can’t. Let’s work with what we got.

This persons insta page is still linked on their old page even after it’s been privated. This suggests that old page has officially been abandoned (there’s no hope for more writing is there?)

I find their linktree again; very easy to find.

Great they have TikTock!

TikTok, the most highly used social media app in the world today, about 2 billion active world-wide users on the daily.

Big responsibility. So big that they have to resort to AI #stopusingAI to do their jobs for them. It does it very poorly.

Back to our case.

I have a bunch of loose threads, and as Enola Holmes’ mother once said “Pull on every loose thread you find.”

So I do.

I realize I’m stupider than an AI user and type in their personal Insta username into TikTok.

Bingo.

Same username (a few tweaks) and with a bunch of videos.

I look at the reposts. Last repost was recent, about a month or so ago .

They are not dead, and my case is over.

Or is it?

There’s so many possibilities of who this could be, could this REALLY be who I need it to be?

I pull on every loose thread I could find.

Display name, user name, reposts, books, anything. You name it and I’ve pulled on it.

Finally I look at their desk.

This is who I think it is.

There’s still a chance this isn’t the person.

But I know that as far as the date I found, they’re alright.

This may seem a bit parasocial but I just really like this author, and my intentions aren’t creepy.

I just want to make sure this person isn’t dead, because if they were I’d be in mourning.
