For the Interim Show, I will be displaying my work on a Mac.Â
I want to have more than just a simple video displayed on a Mac so one of the ideas that I thought about was to make a desktop background that will compliment the animation. I thought that it would be interesting to have the video as part of the background and with the theme of my animation being film, I had some ideas about using that as a theme for my background.
Originally, I thought about a cinema screen but with my animation being portrait, that wouldn't have worked. So then I thought about film posters and how they are displayed outside the cinema or around the walls inside the cinema. This suited my video more as its portrait and could easily have my video slot in perfectly.Â
Even though most cinema ânow showingâ signs are fairly plain, there were a few examples of the poster being inside a big box with neon lights. I liked this flashy style and decided to base my idea on that.
Going with a neon border as well as the text being in neon too, it really brought attention to the focal point. To make it look more like it was on a cinema wall, it put a poster at each side with the lights slightly dimmed on them so not to bring too much attention to them. (I just used posters that I had previously made to use for these.)Â
With a red wall added, it hopefully has the look of the inside of a cinema and can bring more life to the video rather than just having the standard desktop background.
