You know, being a hero was tough, but Barry liked it-- loved it. He wanted to help people, and he could. He loved being a speedster, the moment he realized his powers, it felt like he was whole. That part of him that had been missing? It was filled. Completely. The idea of having a life without his powers was one that made his stomach cringe, chest ache, and made the world spin in an unpleasant way. What he never thought would happen to him, was being given a ring. No, not some cute wedding ring. Don’t get him wrong he hopes for that one day. Nope. A Lantern ring. A Lantern one!
The day that it happened he yelped in complete shock, and had no idea what to do. He still had no idea what to do. Speedster was one thing, but a Lantern? A completely different realm. Not for the first time he wished Hal was around, and not off on some mission in outer space. Since the first day, when he was clad in blue-- a color that didn’t look that bad on him, he put the ring in a secure place, and just left it there. Yes, it was not the most responsible thing to do. But he needed his best friend, he needed advice, and he needed to know how this even happened. What does Blue even stand for anyway?
And finally, finally when Hal returned to Earth he didn’t hesitate to call him up at all. He sat on this for far too long ( it’s only been a few weeks ) it needed to resolved.
“Hal? Hey, I was wondering if you could come over? I really, really need to talk to you about something. It’s important.”
