It had been a long day of wiping tables, taking orders and serving food, but finally it was over. Standing in the locker room at theĀ restaurant where the staff could change after their shift, Emma smiled as she pulled the tight black dress she had brought with her that morning over her head.Ā
Usually, after a shift, she would head home, spend the evening to catch up with her son and have a glass of wine in front of the tv (only on fridayās), before falling asleep. However tonight this wasnāt the case, tonight she had somewhere to be. She had told Regina that she had to stay late at work and she had offered to take Henry with her home for a sleepover with her and Robin, but the truth was that Emma was going to a concert. A concert held by the band The Jolly Rockers, formed by local musicians from the town.Ā
The reason why she hadnāt told Regina the truth was because she had recently started to develop feelings, more than friendly feelings, for the guitarist of the band. The past month she had seen him at theĀ restaurant almost every single day and the more she had talked to him the more she had realized what a great guy he seemed to be. However, she wasnāt sure if the feelings were mutual on his part and she didnāt want to bring a guy she wasnāt sure would stick around into her and Henryās life. The boy had had enough trouble growing up with never knowing his father, she didnāt want to risk bringing in a potential father figure only to have him leave.Ā
She also didnāt want to tell Regina before she was certain there was something there, there was no point in telling her if it all turned out to just be a ruse. Taking one last glance in the mirror she smoothed down her dress before exiting theĀ restaurant and starting in the direction of the music hall where the concert would be, hoping that tonight would be great and that she might get a chance to talk to Killian.Ā
