Camila was on her way to work. Early morning as usual. She could potentially go into work a little later, but she liked to be ready and get going on her research as soon as possible. This was probably the best thing about postdoc, being able to choose her hours. As long as the deadlines are met, no one cared if she didn't show up at 8 am sharp. But she was often at the university. It could be the very prevalent culture of overworking yourself in academia, but to her, she just enjoyed that environment, surrounded with knowledge and people who liked the same things. And she certainly worked better in the lab or at her desk than she ever could in her flat. On her way, she was already thinking about what she'd do and what she needed to add to her paper. A familiar figure walking in front of her pulled her from her thoughts. She did her best to walk a little faster to catch up with him. "Deputy!" she said with a smile as she started walking next to him.
