strangers who had such interests and curiosity usually did so for a reason. even though katherine didn’t openly show her mistrust and played the little game, she was still careful about what information she passed on. she was far from naive and she always played her cards right.

      "you get little information from the standard questions, most people want to know the name, the age, the professional background. whether you like the location, what you want to order to drink. or, if it’s going to be a little more, whether you want to go somewhere together afterward with the option of something more ... intense." these were the typical bar conversations of strangers who met here, especially on an evening like this where many people were just in the mood.

      "your accent tells me you’re from england, i’d say you’re from the south. perhaps from a region between the south coast and london. your first name doesn’t quite match your accent, it sounds more like southern european." something that didn’t quite fit together, but katherine didn’t know if he had told her his real name or if his name wasn’t more of an artist’s name.

      "you are a very attentive person, someone who pays attention to the details. somehow i doubt that you hope to find a quick number here." although this bar often gave the opportunity to find people for a party or quickie. "i think you take certain things seriously and don’t make frivolous decisions."

【❖】   ――――   For   being   the   murder   capital   of   the   world   Santa   Carla   wasn’t   what   she   had   expected.   Honestly,   she’s   beginning   to   think   she’d   been   sent   on   a   wild   goose   chase.   She   had   seen   more   death   in   Sunnydale   in   a   week   than   she   has   here   in   the   entire   month   she’d   been   here.   At   least   the   boardwalk   was   managing   to   keep   her   some   what   entertained.   Faith   found   herself   drawn   to   the   neon   lights   of   the   amusement   park,   the   sounds   of   laughter   and   excitement   filling   the   night   air.   It   was   her   kind   of   vibe.   As   she   walked   through   the   crowded   boardwalk,   she   couldn't   shake   the   feeling   that   something   was   off.   The   hairs   on   the   back   of   her   neck   stood   on   end,   a   familiar   sensation   that   she   had   learned   to   trust   over   the   years.

Her   instincts   proved   to   be   right   when   she   caught   a   glimpse   of   movement   out   of   the   corner   of   her   eye.   Without   missing   a   beat,   Faith   reached   for   the   stake   hidden   in   her   jacket,   after   fingers   curled   around   it   tightly   she   spun   around,   ready   to   face   whatever   threat   may   come   her   way.   But   instead   of   a   vampire   or   demon,   she   found   herself   face   to   face   with   a   man   who   reminded   of   a   vampire   she   once   knew   a   while   back.   What   were   the   odds   in   that   ?   Then   again,   no   one   really   looked   ‘normal’   in   Santa   Carla.

Faith   raised   an   eyebrow,   studying   the   man   for   a   moment   before   a   sly   grin   tugged   at   the   corner   of   her   lips.   ❝   Only   if   you've   got   an   extra   for   me,   ❞   She   replied,   her   eyes   glinting   mischievously   as   she   released   the   grip   on   the   stake.   Walking   over   she   leaned   up   against   the   building   that   housed   the   giant   carousel.   ❝   I’m   pretty   new   around   these   parts.   This   the   only   place   people   hang   out   around   here   ?   ❞   Faith   asked   curiously   while   waiting for   that   cigarette.

            katherine hasn't yet made up her mind about what she even wants from this little human which means that she hasn't decided if she gets to live or die. but what she currently wanted was to play with her, and scare her into perhaps spilling some things. her vampire-face flashed again before her features normalized and she smiled at sarah friendly, almost sweetly – but she still kept her firm grip on her arm.

           there were good reasons why she wasn’t as grateful as damon wanted her to be. firstly, it really wasn't that big of a deal to make a visit once klaus left. aside from that, she doesn't see why she should thank him in a way he approves. on the one hand, she did not want to kiss his ass and thank him on her knees, on the other hand, he had certainly not helped her without reason. after all, even damon was always pleased when she took elena’s position in hot situations. they’d rather let katherine be stabbed than their precious elena.

           "in the end, it’s only beneficial for you, if i were dead, you wouldn’t have gotten the cure for your annoying bite. who else would klaus have asked?" she still wondered today why klaus had commissioned her. of course, she hoped he hadn’t noticed her rebellion, but it was strange that he would take such a risk. was he hoping that she would disappear and not go to damon? couldn’t he use her anymore? what were the motives?

【❖】  ――――   Faith  walked  into  the  luxurious  bedroom,  taking  in  the  opulence  surrounding  her.  She  couldn't  help  but  be  impressed  by  Negan's  gesture,  offering  her  a  space  that  clearly  held  significance  within  the  Sanctuary.  As  she  turned  to  thank  him,  she  noticed  a  glint  of  something  in  his  eyes  —  a  mixture  of  pride  and  anticipation.  It  was  clear  that  he  was  waiting  for  her  reaction,  almost  as  if  her  approval  meant  more  to  him  than  he  let  on.  With  a  smile  playing  on  her  lips,  Faith  strode  over  to  Negan,  closing  the  distance  between  them.  She  leaned  in,  her  voice  a  mere  whisper  as  she  spoke,  ❝  Negan,  you  don't  have  to  impress  me  with  material  things.  I'm  more  interested  in  what  lies  beneath  the  surface.  ❞  Her  words  hung  in  the  air,  charged  with  unspoken  meaning.

As  she  explored  the  room,  running  her  fingers  over  the  soft  fabrics  and  admiring  the  little  details,  she  couldn't  shake  off  the  feeling  that  Negan  was  watching  her  every  move,  studying  her  reactions  closely.  It  was  as  if  he  was  trying  to  decipher  something  about  her,  something  that  she  herself  might  not  even  be  aware  of.  Faith  couldn't  deny  the  pull  she  felt  towards  him,  the  raw  magnetism  that  seemed  to  radiate  from  his  very  being.  She  turned  to  face  him,  meeting  his  intense  gaze  with  a  boldness  of  her  own.  ❝  You  know,  Negan,  ❞  Faith  began,  her  tone  laced  with  a  newfound  confidence,  ❝  I  have  a  feeling  there's  more  to  you  than  meets  the  eye.  And  I  have  a  knack  for  uncovering  hidden  truths.  ❞  She  moved  closer  to  him,  the  air  crackling  with  tension  between  them.  Faith  held  his  gaze  steadily.  ❝  Never  been  one  to  back  down  from  a  good  challenge.  ❞  She  replied,  her  voice  steady  and  laced  with  mischievousness.  All  that  talk  about  rules  blew  through  one  ear  and  out  the  other.  She  had  them  down  pat  and  would  make  sure  everyone  fell  into  line.

【❖】   ――――    ❝   Bold   words   for   a   Slayer   in   unfamiliar   territory,   ❞   He   remarked   coolly,   though   there   was   a   glint   of   respect   in   his   eyes.   David   grinned,   his   fangs   glistening   in   the   moonlight.   ❝   But   don’t   you   ever   get   tired   of   the   same   old   song   and   dance   ?   ❞   He   questioned,   his   eyes   locking   with   Buffy's.   ❝   Why   are   you   here,   Slayer   ?   ❞   He   questioned,   knowing   full   well   the   strength   they   were   suppose   to   posses.   The   tension   between   the   two   of   them   crackled   like   electricity   in   the   air,   the   fate   of   the   night   hanging   precariously   on   the   edge   of   a   knife.   If   she   came   to   Santa   Carla   with   intentions   of   hunting   his   kind   then   he   needed   to   end   this   here   and   now.   He   wouldn’t   just   stand   by   and   allow   himself   nor   his   boys   to   be   blindsided   again.   It   would   take   more   than   just   a   pretty   face   to   let   his   guard   down. 

David   shifted   closer   to   Buffy,   his   movements   graceful   and   predatory.   ❝   Or   are   you   just   another   lost   soul   seeking   redemption   in   the   wrong   place   ?   ❞   He   taunted,   a   dark   smirk   playing   on   his   lips.   The   wind   picked   up,   swirling   around   them   in   a   frenzied   dance,   carrying   the   scent   of   blood   and   danger.   A   gloved   hand   would   raise   to   rub   his   chin   as   a   grin   cracked   the   corner   of   his   lips.   He   studied   Buffy's   face   intently,   searching   for   any   hint   of   fear   or   doubt.   But   to   his   surprise,   he   saw   only   steely   determination   in   her   eyes.   He   could   sense   the   raw   power   emanating   from   her,   a   force   to   be   reckoned   with.   ❝   I   see   the   fire   in   your   eyes,   Slayer,   ❞   David   spoke   softly,   almost   admiringly.   ❝   You're   not   like   the   others   who   have   come   before   you.   But   know   this,   I   won't   hesitate   to   protect   what's   mine.   ❞
