I think my problem with communicating regularly with friends is that I always end up structuring messages like a long, handwritten letter. Everything has to be full addressed and I always have to find a way to a way to drag each point out until it’s uninteresting. I can’t say, “jeez dude that sucks,” it has to be a tiny essay on why it sucks (even though you told me!), filled with un-asked for advice so I feel like I’m actually doing something. I can’t talk in real time because each message has to be college-level edited and all of this is so exhausting.
If I continue to try to communicate this way, I will continue to not respond for 1-2+ weeks. So if I suddenly get very casual and stop treating you all like you’re penpals instead of friends, forgive me. (Or be glad, since I’ll finally be talking like a person and not an npc? Idk)
