Sometimes we need to use our voice even if our voice shakes. I had an a-ha moment last night on our drive home from a summer event. I love my partner and after 15 years into our relationship we are still learning the art of conversation. Before we would dance around trying not to hurt feelings. That's when we were young and starting out. Now as we know each other a little better it's easier to say what is needed to move forward. He surprises me at times when he puts "it" all out on the table showing all of his cards. It doesn't happen often but when it does it is inspiring and brace I love him for this and it brings us closer to one another. I have no fear of sharing what is true for me with him. Relationships are work and I see our commitment as a great slow cooker recipe, we add the ingredients and stir around, test and add what else is required and continue to play with our recipe. It will never be the same each time and we learn what works to help move our relationship forward.
