7) Harren Marcellus-Fontaine, AKA Nightshade

You guys managed to pick my character, Harren, a character from an old superhero-type universe. Once a notorious thief, he used his abilities to travel amongst the shadows and manipulate it to become of the most wanted criminals by the time he reached age 20. But after being arrested, he was offered the chance to remain in prison or reform his ways. Thus, he began his hero career as Nightshade, and twenty years later, he became the enforcer amongst the HEROCLOCK organization, investigating internal affairs amongst the heroes.

He still works every now and then in the field, but he remains mostly at the tower, promising to stay out of trouble so his domestic partner (husband, though they never legally married) and ‘daughter’ (again, not really legalized either) don’t worry about him.

Okay, after deleting this once before after I was writing it, let’s try this again: ROUND TWO!

Which one sexts like a straight white boy?Well, considering the fact that in this ship, Ravus is the straight white boy, let’s say it’s the high commander himself that is an awkward sexter. He’s not one to really use his phone too much, so it’s up to Aranea to usually break the ice when it comes to these types of intimate messages. A few provocative words to rile Ravus up. Even if she doesn’t get any responses in return, she knows he sees every one of her messages – including the lingere pictures she just so happens to send to him during important meetings with the other generals and the chancellor. Ravus has to sometimes excuse himself to look at the photo and find a way to calm down his overly-red face.

Which one cried during a fucking Disney movie?Okay, Aranea is an emotional woman when she wants to be. She shouldn’t have gotten emotional during Finding Nemo, but she did because – goddammit – they traveled the entire ocean for him! And they became such close friends, the damn clownfish and the blue tang, and then the little fish saved all of those other fish? Man, it got her worse than she wanted it to. Ravus watched with amusement at her, but she was glad to turn it back against Ravus and the time he cried during Wall-E. He glared at her in response. ‘We were to never speak of that every again.’ They then agreed to never speak about the Nemo incident as well. Nobody would ever know their weakness, after all.

Who put a goddamned fork in the microwave?Despite being dared to, Aranea had no idea the microwave and fork would start sparking as a result of her putting it in there. Biggs and Wedge only told her that something would happen, but she wasn’t expecting for the microwave to nearly blow it. Albeit was cool and all, but when Ravus came in and saw Biggs and Wedge having to put out a fire as Aranea head her hands up defensively, the high commander merely rubbed his face in exasperation before he turned and walked away. Well, at least he didn’t have to worry about the empire catching onto his plans to aid Lunafreya anytime soon.

Who does the silly hands-over-the-eyes “Guess who” thing?Since the high commander is often too absorbed in his plans and strategies to really pay much mind to the world, Aranea often finds herself subject to a lack of attention. Not that she really minds, considering she knew all the right ways to get Ravus’s attention. This includes waltzing up behind him as he tries to slink back to his study and collapsing her hands over his eyes as she whispers ‘Guess Who?’ by his ear. The cute way Ravus gulps in nervousness before he turns around to face the little dragoon in her low-cut tank top and shorts is always too priceless. Even more so when he has to keep his gaze off of her because he’s flustered by her presence. She only smirks to herself before she kisses him and walks away. That’s all she needed… For now.

Who puts their cold hands/feet on their partner?Usually late at night, Aranea ends up waking up to the high commander trying to sneak to bed after a long night working. She usually shrugs it off, just grumbling at him about being a nerd who overworks himself, but it’s all apart of their nightly routine. Including him climbing into bed after he unequips his prosthetic arm and armor. Including him kissing her cheek to ease her back to relaxation. Including him sneaking his cold-ass hand over her stomach and getting her to yelp in response and try getting away from him. He merely holds her tighter, telling her good night as he ‘falls asleep.’ It take a good long while before his hands warm up, but Aranea swears under her breath and tells him that she’s going to get revenge on him later for it. She never does though. She’ll let him have that trump card over her. After all, she has an entire hand of cards she could play against Ravus.

Who had that embarrassing Reality TV marathon?Well, it’s normal for Aranea to watch those scandalous TV shows. She has to find out who’s going to win Project Runway and just what new piece of gossiping is gossip is going to be spread in The Real Housewives of Lucis. So she, Biggs, and Wedge have a weekly TV night, where they usually just sit around and gossip about the new drama happening on primetime. Ravus heard about these nights, questioning just what got them all so excited. So he watched an episode… And then another… And another until he ended up marathoning the full season of the show. It was pointless entertainment, but he found himself watching it more and more until Aranea came in and Ravus slammed his computer shut. He tried to say it was porn on his computer, but Aranea knew he was too innocent for that. She merely smirked and eyed him carefully before she left him to his ‘porn.’

Who laughs more during sex?PSSH. You really think Ravus is the man who would laugh? Much less smile without being prompted to somehow? Aranea knows this, and she’s rather him not creep her out with a forced smile. It’d have to come naturally, and she knew that well enough. So the laughing and smiling is usually left to her as Ravus tries to awkwardly be sexy and intimate, only getting her to laugh before she pulls him close and kisses him. For a stoic high commander, Ravus was sometimes a bumbling and awkward work. It’s cute to see Ravus in such a way. And what’s even cuter is when he actually does smile, mostly because he’s happy to see that Aranea’s happy. The dragoon couldn’t help but smile at the sight. At least he didn’t look creepy when he really did smile and chuckle (not laugh. Laughing was the scary part).

“…As you see, the blockade is well-fortified and the fortress had the proper forces needed in order to satisfy the needs of the empire to achieve their goals.”

The inspector gave a small nod to the high commander as he followed after Ravus’s long strides across the barracks. A portable base, and one that recently suffered a noted assault from the rogue prince and his group of misfit friends. And yet, for a base that was supposedly nearly destroyed, the high commander managed to get it repaired to the best and peek potential. Fascinating. He would definitely send back a good report to the emperor for Ravus’s work in restoring the facility and managing to repair what needed to be fixed.

“A question, if I may.” The high commander looked down the inspector as they wrote down their notes. The commander’s eyes narrowed, but he merely nodded to the inspector to let them ask their question. “With how well-kept the facility is, it seems as if there’s hardly even a scuff on the floor anymore. How do you and your soldiers manage such a well-kept facility to begin with?”

“I run the entire Imperial army with an iron fist. Quite literally.” He flexes his gauntlet for a moment before he turned back ahead to keep walking with the inspector behind him. “We have a tight schedule of duties that must be done. And with that type of precision, we are able to maintain our facility here and further enhance others like it. Nobody does anything without a proper command from me. That is how we do things, and that is now I-”

He stopped just sort of being hit by a rushing MA-X machine, the wind force being enough for Ravus’s hair to be swept to the side as it ran by him. He blinked in surprise, shocked that his life would have been nearly ended had he taken another step forward. Shouting was heard as his eyes followed the machine that came dashing across the airfield. And dashing… And going until-

CRASH!

Ravus and the inspector physically jolted as it made impact with the wall, the front of it being completely crushed as it cracked the wall of the fortress. The smell of burnt rubber and leaking oil began to fill the air before the pilot seat of the machine ejected, sending the pod flying from the machine and directly towards the inspector and the high commander. Ravus was quick in grabbing the inspector’s arm and tearing them from the collision path just as the pod made impact and skidded across the floor. The high commander looked up once the dust cleared, fanning it aside as he frowned at the opening pod.

Coughing was heard before the blond-haired general poked his head from the pod, forehead bleeding and a bit of dizziness affecting him as he stumbled out of the pod and staggered forward. “Dammit…! I thought I finally figured out how to pilot that…!” The general held onto his bleeding head, blinking hard as he looked at the silver-haired commander and the inspector. That young man definitely had a concussion. But he merely grinned and held out his hand to the inspector. “Hello there! Loqi Tummelt. A pleasure.”

The inspector awkwardly nodded, shaking the general’s hand before he looked at the high commander. This definitely had to go into the report…

Asks for Fanfic Writers

7) Early influences for your writings?A lot of my writings were influenced by the fact that I was a theatre kid from middle school all the way until my freshman year of college. I’d always find myself writing monologues or scripts that I could see people perform, so that’s why I always find dialogue to be one of the things I’m so comfortable with writing. To me, I feel like my writings can be performed as well, with actions and dialogue fluent enough (hopefully) to be translated into a real-life scenario or conversation, even if it seems to be fantastic at the same time.Before I started dabbling into the writings and silliness I do now, however, I used to be a Quizilla writer when that used to exist. Those ‘Reader x Character’ love story things? I used to be all over writing those after my sister used to write Naruto ones for people. She inspired me to do Kingdom Hearts as my emphasis, and that’s what I did. Eventually though, Quizilla changed alot and I stopped writing for some time.That is, until I found myself influenced by a particular fanfiction series. Surgeon General’s Warning by Dualism was one of the first real fanfictions I read, and I was so inspired by it! I would print out all of the chapters just to sit and read them during class or before I went to bed, and I was just so mesmerized by how well-written it was and how funny the situations were. It was what really got me wanting to write a fanfiction series, and it’s something that I still reflect on today. I hope to be as brilliant as Dualism was.

11) Do you listen to music when you write?As much as I like to, I for some reason don’t? It’s really funny, because I start writing with music, and then at random moments, I have to pause and realize that my music stopped for some reason. I think for a moment before I pull up Spotify and remember that I had paused it. Sometimes to watch a video, to hear someone talking to me, or to get up and go get food or a drink. Then, I come back, keep writing until I realize that I’ve been writing without music for hours.So I do listen to music as I write, and it does influence some of the writings I do, but it’s an awkward tango of silence and sound.

20) Favorite character to write?Currently? I find that my favorite character to write for is, of course, Ravus Nox Fleuret from Final Fantasy XV. He has alot of depth to him, despite his rare amount of screen time, and it’s rather fun to explore sides of Ravus that weren’t coherent as he debuted in Final Fantasy XV. It leaves room to interpret the canon but also to devise your own headcanons and assumptions for him. Fantastic!I also found myself enjoying the idea of writing for Ardyn Izunia from Final Fantasy XV as well. Something about his characterization and personality is reminiscent to the days of RPing the villain or writing devious characters in general, so it’s really fun to be able to write for Ardyn whenever he comes up. That daemon hobo.But despite Ravus and Ardyn being some of my favorites now, my favorite character to write for when I was younger was Tidus from Final Fantasy X. I wrote Dissidia stories before I started getting back in the game with Final Fantasy XV, and Tidus was one of my favorite characters to touch on for some odd reason (guess that explains the nickname of ‘Mama Tidus’ though). I miss being able to write for him!
