Catch me in yo inbox again.
For you zombie au what's happening with Aaron. Bc like I said in my other post every time I think of this au aarmau the zombie song by Stephenie mabey plays in my brain and I want to draw art of it.
I'm very glad to see you here again! You made me think about Aaron a lot today, which is surprising for even myself, LMAO also if you ever do draw that, and if its possible, i would love to see..)anyway, you see I've previously ranted about this guy a WHILE ago when I first started making this au and I sent an ask to fellow tumblr user martyr. And so Aaron's possible end comes from Martyr + In the same post you also got another route that I wanted to go with Aaron's backstory but I abandoned (link to that) and cw for suicide mention and character death
Aaron had a pretty rough start(taking in context a semi related to mys Aaron backstory), but as he became an adult he managed to cut off his parents and eventually found the love of his wife, marrying her and having a som together- now its obvious that this refers to Lily and Jacob, his wife and son from mcd haha
They had a pretty normal life, nothing out of the ordinary, but they were happy. Until. Until well . The world literally ended while they wanted to pick up Jacob together from school to then go and spend some extra special family time together for Aaron's birthday. That did not happen. But. Thankfully. They didn't get separated.
Everything was rough, obviously, but at least they were together. A few weeks later, they ran into a lone survivor that seemed really out of it, so of course they let him stay with them for at least until he found a familiar face. And of course, that was a big mistake, as that survivor was, in fact, Zane. Now, Zane didn't have any particularly bad intentions in mind at the time. He really was just some guy, alone, really disoriented. But neither did he have the best in mind for Aaron and his family, as he was pretty apathetic to them, which led eventually to Jacob getting bitten as Zane didn't want to risk his own skin. On top of that, he ended up bailing with half of their supplies. Neither of them could bring themselves to put him down, and being early on, they still had hope that maybe, somehow, they'll be able to cure him. The infection will just pass. But that didn't happen, and a newly transformed Jacob bit Lily, which led to Aaron having to kill both of them.
After this, he swore to get revenge on the bastard who provoked all this and also learned the unfortunate lesson that people aren't to be trusted anymore. Thing which will be made clear to him over and over again throughout the time he'd spend alone. In a forest, mind you.
Now his first introduction to our other guys. After being low on supplies, Aphmau takes it upon herself to get more, as at this point in time, she's unaware that she isn't the only one who is more or less immune in the bunker(tho i use 'immune' loosely when it comes to Aph as she's actually a zombie herself.). Which leads to the journey of also meeting Dante and Malachi as they take shelter in the boy's house. Before she runs into Dante, tho, she runs into Aaron in the forest briefly. She was very obviously followed, and she could feel that suspicion, which was confirmed when she started catching glimpses of a tall person slowly but surely following in her steps. He keeps killing walkers that are stalking closer, unaware of Aphmau's predicament. From Aaron's own point of view, he really just saw this kind of off-putting woman walking through the forest with a kitchen knife, unbothered by anything, so he had to investigate. lmaoo
That was kind of their first introduction to each other and his technical first appearance. In the next two, he accidentally scares the boys. Really bad. The second time he makes an appearance is after Dante and Aphmau take shelter in Malachi's house as a storm is coming. He stalks around the place, and Dante sees him through the window. And it wasn't a very pretty sight. Similarly, it happens with Garroth and Laurance as well, who reach the same path Aphmau took, and after finding an abandoned camp where there definitely has been a struggle that makes them think about the worst-case scenario, they run into him as well.
Why does he frighten them so much? Well, I think anyone would be jumpscared by a guy in the middle of the forest that wears walkers' skin. Aaron is one of the people who has discovered that by wearing their skin, or you know, smudging their blood and guts on you, they will start avoiding you. And so will humans most of the time! Tho this whole thing was, in fact, inspired by the whisperers in the Walking Dead, I do not entirely think Aaron is really using zombies in his advantage like that, as much as he's just using it for easier kills and better camouflage.
Aphmau does take a liking to him eventually tho.
Regardless, after Garrenamu goes back home now with two new additions, Aaron follows but doesn't really interact with them for a WHILE. Tho, at some point, Aphmau, at least, is kind of aware that he's just. There. Aaron honestly has been getting some kind of leads about Zane's well... influence. I'm not getting into what this loser has been exactly doing as it's not his post, but just know that he started a cult somehow.
Aaron doesn't 100% know that is Zane, as it's more of a case in which he's been filling the gaps himself and just happened to be right in some aspects, and following these guys was the good call not only because he found Zane's brother without even knowing but also because the cult started approaching them. And for obvious reasons, no one is very...on board with interacting with those guys, but eventually Malachi ends up falling sick, which leads to them needing more medical attention than they could afford on their own. And that's like. The only nearby civilization that they even know of. Aaron ends up officially introduced throughout their journey there. I think he kinda smells the group's weirdness from day 1, but he remains silent about it. When they do end up reaching the community, who is 'allegedly' (but very obviously) ruled by Zane, Aaron dissappears from plain sight again. Things end up going really badly, as anyone could expect, and at the end of the arc, there is the chance that I may . Kill off both Aaron and Zane like they died in mcd. This being completely taken basically from Martyr, who, in the ask i linked at the start, said they Aaron is just doomed like that. And I agree completely! Especially with that way of death for these two. But honestly, we'll see in the future.
Aaron is ultimately just very miserable in this au, very like his mcd self! I do think he builds somewhat of a friendship with Aphmau and the boys, as the journey there and their time spent there is well. Not VERY long, but long enough that they get the chance to get to know each other somewhat, and the others actually stop suspecting him of things!
That's kind of what I got for him till this moment! I wish to get even in more detail about him and especially his and the others' time in Zane's claws in the future...
