Hi! So if my memory is correct, a while back you offhandedly mentioned that you're not a fan of Chuck Palahniuk (spelling?). Well, I have a friend who started reading one of his books a few days ago, I think Invisible Monsters. I was just wondering, have you written why you dislike his works? If not, could you explain why?
I don't dislike his works; I have never read his works.
what I dislike is him.
One of my specific dislikes and the only one that really touches on his writing is that his writing advice is "here's how to emulate the style in which I personally write" presented as "here is how to be an objectively better writer". He assumes the things that he does not like constitute weak writing and the things he is best at constitute strong writing.
It's the creative equivalent of The Sports Team From My Area Is Superior To The Sports Team From Your Area.
