I decided to experiment with slower shutter speeds during last week's Insect to Monarch performance. I love the effect the band's light-up drum sticks create when the room is dark, and I wanted to capture that. The challenge I faced was having the exposure dark enough to get the full visual effect of the sticks while still being bright enough to see the band members themselves. This is what I came up with.
