The good the bad and the ugly! I snapped this picture last year in our garden. It was not till today that I learned some tidbits on these guys. They are beautiful, no doubt about that. They as well can keep out those bad insects from our gardens, you know, the insects that like to eat on our plants? However, I learned that they eat the pretty little butterflies as well. Not only that but they don’t have a filter on what bugs they should and should not eat.They eat the bad but as well they eat the good bugs too. My husband and I are into beekeeping and have been learning about and trying to raise bees for the last 3 years. These beautiful dragonflies WILL eat these bees. This is good and bad. What I once thought was a gorgeous thing to have in my backyard, I know now may be beautiful and beneficial but dangerous as well to my garden and definitely bad for my bees.
