You guys are getting so clever. This is really just an excellent ask. The levels of nuance here are impeccable. The wordplay. The wit.

Hi. I want to become Dirk Strider.
This hyperlink redirects to an ostensibly-comprehensive list of similar blogs.
The idea to begin this journey was born from following the quests of the legendary @amijohndaveyet, as well as @becomingjadedavekat, which is newer, but also legendary to me.
Of course, the immediately obvious flaw of this endeavor is that Dirk is a singular person. Thus, I am not sure whether he carries the same spiritual weight as something as hefty as JohnDave, or JadeDaveKat.
However, I did not feel captured by any goal the same way that I felt captured by becoming Dirk. I know that it is my calling, and I must fill the niche of becoming a singular Homestuck character.
I know this is a path that many have tread before, and many have become Dirk Strider with ease. But please understand that although my goal may sound trivial, it still far from my grasp. It is not enough to seem like Dirk Strider. It is not enough to embody him, to feel like him, or to fancy myself him. I must become him.
I also want to clarify, much like my predecessors mentioned above, that Dirk is not my favorite Homestuck character. It’s John by a landslide. Dirk is okay, I guess. Hussie’s written better.
My motivation is fickle at times, so I do not know how long I will last. Please wish me luck.

Hey, what the hell? Are you the fucking AR?
You know, maybe tusslin' with a supercomputer version of his younger self is some unspoken, inescapable fate of Dirks worldwide. Bet the hand of God himself reached down and scrawled it right in Dirk-zero's prime Strider genes, all prophetic and shit.
If this is another step on the journey to becoming Dirk, you bet your ass I'm taking it, you motherfuckin' tricked out toaster.
There is no "real" Dirk, because I am the real Dirk.
Never said whether I was theist or atheist, man. I'm tryin' to become Dirk. That's the long and short of it.
