This innovative effort prepares German firms for quantum computing's transformation. INQUBATOR helps organisations use quantum power without the high costs and technological challenges.
The initiative supports businesses that have not yet adopted quantum technology. The program's main goal is to reduce SMEs' adoption barriers. INQUBATOR allows these organisations to examine practical quantum applications immediately through joint R&D initiatives without waiting for the technology to emerge.
Making Quantum Computing Usable
INQUBATOR provides easy, affordable access to quantum computers from numerous manufacturers. Businesses may test workflows, experiment with quantum algorithms, and design custom solutions for internal operations without investing in proprietary hardware due to its accessibility.
The Fraunhofer IAF organises the project. Grant 13N17420 from Germany's Federal Ministry of Research, Technology, and Space (BMFTR) funds the research. The IPA, ITWM, IAO, and Fraunhofer IAF collaborated on INQUBATOR. The partnering institutes leverage their quantum hardware and application-focused software expertise to efficiently guide industry partners from early discovery to solution deployment.
All Fraunhofer Institute member firms can use their HPC and quantum facilities. With easy access, industry partners may quickly test concepts and apply research findings. The framework's versatility allows instant experimentation and iteration while keeping the project focused on industry needs.
In addition to infrastructure, INQUBATOR provides workshops, training, and practical collaboration to transfer expertise. Pilots and Growth
InQubATOR will begin with four carefully selected pilot use cases as early industry blueprints. Early efforts target medical, cybersecurity, insurance, and the automotive industry. These examples demonstrate how quantum computing could yield quantitative benefits.
When these pilots commence, the initiative will request more suggestions. At least eight more use cases from various areas are needed. Every selected project will have a detailed real-world implementation strategy, allowing businesses to collaborate on quantum solutions for their unique issues. Every study will have a commercialisation and exploitation plan to keep it relevant to business. This focused strategy prioritises innovation and real-world corporate problem-solving algorithms.
Strengthening Germany's Quantum Future INQUBATOR offers independent technology support and assessment to help businesses navigate the complexity of quantum computing. The project reduces barriers like expensive computer time costs and quantum algorithm unfamiliarity to make the technology accessible and useful for many businesses.
