"Three...two...one...go!"
The two young adults knocked back their glasses with ease, and only the man winced at the burning in his throat. "God, how do you stand this stuff?" Inoshi asked, his features contorting in disgust. The dark haired girl sitting next to him at the bar smirked as she relished in the familiar buzz forming in her brain.
"Years of practice," Shikari mused smugly, earning her a playful nudge from her teammate.
"Hey, quiet down, this is supposed to be our first year of practice, remember?" he pointed out, though no one could hear them over the blaring music of the dance floor. Not that anyone would really care. Any illegal drinking they did back in the day meant nothing now that they were old enough to drink out in the open. Shikari's twentieth birthday could not have come fast enough and she was enjoying all the bar life she could handle. This was her fifth venue in 3 weeks and it didn't look like she was slowing down anytime soon. Chomiki, who had never been much of a fan of their drinking adventures, had opted out after their first few outings, but Inoshi had stayed strong and continued to accompany her, if only because he enjoyed the nightlife even more than she did. She only cared about the drinking, he was in it for the whole shebang.
As if her very train of thought had willed it, a rather intense song came on and Inoshi gasped loudly, jumping from his seat. "I love this song! Shikari, you have to come dance with me!" he shouted, grabbing at her sleeve. She immediately resisted it, pulling back with a frown.
"No way man, I haven't drank nearly enough for that yet," she retorted.
"Come ooooooon!" he whined, tugging at her sleeve again. She responded by jerking back enough to free herself from his grip, scowling.
"I said no. I'll be out there later, alright? Just go." Before he could respond, she turned her back on and with a sigh and an eye roll, he sauntered off to go join the dancing crowd. Shikari huffed and crossed her arms on the bar, closing her eyes and waiting for her drink to really hit her.
