Curtis Lefrandt was able to intern at Innosight, an innovative consulting firm.  His work over the summer helped him land a full time position with Innosight today.  He shares more in this interview.

Where did you do your internship?

Innosight LLC, In Boston, Massachusetts.  Innosight is a management consulting company that inspires companies to achieve growth through innovation.

What were your responsibilities at your internship?

I worked as an Intern analyst. My role was basically the same as the role of a full time analyst.  I provided support for the consulting team which duties ranged from market research, data gathering and data analysis, financial modeling, slide decks, and presenting data to clients.

What were some highlights of your internship?

One of my highlights was when I got to go to India for a project we were working on. We were working for a medical device manufacture and we went to India to explore their current business model and help get their project off the ground.  While we were there we were able to help save lives by doing some social entrepreneur work of providing the poor with some valuable life saving medical devices.

Were you able to see results?  

Yes, we saw some definite results.  We were able to increase the profits and revenues of the medical device project in India and were also able to make it more affordable. We actually had some patients tell us that if it wasn’t for the work we did on our project that they wouldn’t have been able to have had access to the medical device and wouldn’t have lived.

To whom would you recommend this internship?

Any student interested in management consulting or interested in being intimately involved in business industries and business problems. Also anyone interested in innovation who are high performing, ambitious students.
