i'm tired of picking up the pieces once you've left. (from Mox, surprise me)
"Pieces? You say that like I'm some giant, walking mess." Inna rolled her eyes before letting herself drop into the chair across from the man. It was certainly a clash in the office, with Inna's high fashion and Mox's casual, low effort style. Reaching beside her, she grabbed a bottle of vodka, with gold flakes swirling around as it was moved. "Ice?"
She didn't bother waiting for a response, opening the ice bucket and dropping an ice ball into each of the empty glasses, pouring the vodka over it quickly after. "The only other thing I have is wine, and you certainly don't strike me as a red or white kind of guy." How long had she been doing business with him? She couldn't remember. The hotelier simply knew that he was reliable, and discreet. He was a perfect supplier for her ranch-style resort. Though, that's not where they were right now.
Grabbing one of the glasses, she slid it across the table towards him before taking a sip from the other. "Look, you know I always have last minute needs. Plus, when have I ever left you completely strung out to dry?" Rarely had Inna ever paid him upfront for her clients needs, but that didn't mean she didn't pay at all. She never left him waiting more than a week to be paid, and she always ended up paying. "Ah...Are you still upset about that one night where I had too much to drink? I said to send me the bill! You never did, so I never knew how much to pay you back!" The mind that never forgot...Unless it somehow involved her personal life. Those were things that were easily forgotten by her, drowned out by her obsession with her business.
That also meant she was quite the mess when she was drunk enough. Being so uptight every day caused her to truly let go when enough alcohol was flowing through her, and it also meant a lot of emotion and frustration came out. All the things she fought to bottle up, alcohol destroyed the wall that kept them contained.
