Jill was going to kill Chris Redfield, but the second that thought entered her mind, she shuddered uncontrollably. What used to be a joke threat between friends still felt like a visceral emotion she'd experienced only days? weeks ago? She had no idea how long it'd been since they returned from Kijuju, but the overpowering desire to actually kill Chris was still a recent memory. But she was mad at him. Didn't he think she deserved any kind of warning that Carlos was going to be visiting her today? Or maybe that he should mention that the man was now working for the BSAA judging by the emblem on his shoulder.
It's not that she didn't want to see Carlos, quite the opposite. It'd been a decade since she'd last seen him and nearly as long since they'd spoken a word to each other. Letting him walk out of her life had been an immensely hard decision back then, but he deserved space and she let him have it. He looked just like she remembered him, but more assured, stronger, though still with that unruly mop of hair. No, Jill was very glad to see Carlos Oliveira again, she just hadn't wanted him to see her like this.
Her body was an absolute wreck from P30 withdrawal and she felt small and vulnerable. It wasn't just that she could feel like lack of strength coursing through her veinsāyears of having her mind fucked with had made it hard to feel like herself. She understood that there were people who cared for her and they were overjoyed to see that she was "back." But everything was too raw and recent and every time she closed her eyes it still felt like sinking beneath the waves of her own consciousness, never to return.
Her pathetic question was the only think she could think to say to him as he gazed at her, and she suddenly regretted it when met with his warm affirmation. She shifted uncomfortably in the hospital bed they'd moved to her quarters/examination room. She didn't want him to leave necessarily but she felt so exposed. She averted her eyes and found a particularly interesting speck on the wall to examine.
"I don't feel very 'super' right nowā¦" she mumbled.
