LOL HEHE HIII thanks for the questionssss c; since there’s spoilers below, i’ll put a read more

one soulmate per person! as long as they don’t break your heart then you can live happily with whomever you want 

heartbreak side effects include: pounding headaches, migraines, spotty vision, blackouts, fevers, cold sweats, and selective memory loss

soulmate deaths don’t count as heartbreak but similar side effects could occur

selective memory loss = only forgetting your soulmate since they’re the one that hurt you

mutual heartbreak = reset

oikawa forgetting y/n happened gradually and as a way to ground himself, he’d recite things he does remember (teammates, birthday, his name, city, etc). the only thing he couldn’t remember when writing (or “writing”) was y/n’s name. 

once the heartbreak began, he would simply just not recognize her notes. as time goes on, he’d be in pain during conversations abt her/remembering her. then forget about it all right after (almost as a defense/coping mechanism).

so the memory loss blocked him from remembering her existence and from creating new memories (ex: him forgetting to write back all the time).

he can’t remember y/n but he can remember experiences (ex: asking kindaichi about that time they supposedly went to Mcdonalds even though it was him and y/n).

if they both break each other’s hearts then the bond is reset. they forget the other person and thus the selective memory loss is complete bc there’s no more trauma to the soul/heart/brain. at that point, their souls match bc they’ll both be blank!

i hc them as getting together (gotta have a happy ending somewhere LOL). since they reset their bond and forgot (or will forget in y/n’s case), they can start over. i really want to write a sequel so i may not spoil all that i’m thinking, but i think that there's a lot of room for angst by them forgetting each other and getting back together c;

oikawa bc he’s my fav char due to how multifaceted he is! angst w/him is easy bc he has his insecurities but he never lets them stop him, allowing his personal plot to move forward. i rly wanted to do him justice bc people either misrepresent or underrepresent his character, so i wanted to portray him how i felt was right. while it’s obvi a story abt the reader, i think it’s also abt oikawa

terushima just kinda came to me LMAO. i think bc when i started pt 1 i was like “i wanna date him too but know that oikawa is the one for me” (but y/n is selfish af smh). he also doesn’t have a lot of fics but the backbone of his character is canonized so i wanted to see how much i could expand on that given his astrology chart.

that comes down to some characterization and some plot! he’s hot-headed and motivated — he’ll act on what he wants (y/n) at the time that he wants it. plotwise, there was no mention to terushima that he’d meet erin so soon! so there was nothing motivating a high school boy to dump his gf until erin became more significant.
