Rebel Cities.

This poster is a list of 15 cities that rebelled against the power at the beginning of the 21st century.

In Sidi Bouzid, the 17 of December 2010, Mohamed Bouazizi set on fire the whole Arab continent by burning himself. Benghazi, Cairo and Damascus are some of the cities that have revolted subsequently. A few months later, in Madrid, in the context of the global economic crisis, a popular movement occupy Puerta del Sol square creating a wave that will spread around the world: Barcelona, New York, Montreal, Athens, Istanbul, Hong Kong, etc. In the countries from the ex Soviet Union the struggle for better democracy has often led to the fall of their government: Kiev and Tbilisi are good examples.

All those rebellions have inspired each other like never before. They share the same desire for change.

Thinking of how revolutions arise, we realized that often a single person is strong enough to awaken the masses in an unpredictable way. Their courageous actions are going against the flow.
