A beginner's guide to agepro/age progression. [ Since nobody talks about it. ]
[ OP IS A MINOR + I'll block as I see fit. ]
I know that "age progression" is used in other contexts as well but this is in the context of a coping mechanism, people make a lot of jokes about it (might've even seen some regressors joke about it) and this is to show that it isn't a joke. I haven't seen any carrds or other things about agepro so I decided to make a post about it with terms and other information :]
All information under this cut here.
TERMS
- Elderdreamer/olderdreamer are quivalents to age dreamer but specifically to be about progressors.
- Permadult/permaprogressed/perma-aged (*aged in reference to being older) (opposite of permakid, always being regressed)
(the age ranges are in assumption that the person reading is at least 13 years old bodily)
- Olderspace/Elderspace are equivalents to littlespace/middlespace etc.
- Semi-progression is just like semi-regression, but you're partly progressed or partly in a progressed headspace.
"Young age"/"Normal age" is a counterpart to regressors using "big age." This just means the body's age
- Likely no equivalent to "little," if you have an agepro alter you can just say theyre a progressor, I've seen them be called "bigs" before but that feels a lil too childish for my taste, use what you want however.
- Terms you can use for caregivers (both familial and more literal): mom/dad/parent/guardian, niece/nephew/nibling, aunt/uncle/pibling, older/younger big/little bro(ther)/sis(ter)/sib(ling), friend/buddy/homie (if they aren't that much older/younger than you), eldercarer/carer/caregiver/caretaker, helper, assistant. If there's more, then do tell! This is just a list of a few.
(younger and older terms used here because you can progress to any age as long as it's older than your bodily age!)
This is about it for terms, I'll edit this if I find any more terms or get more ideas :]
MISC INFO AND QUESTIONS
- Just like how age regression isn't always regressing to a baby or toddler age, age progressors won't always be seniors/elderpro thats why the other age range terms exist
- Age progression and what you associate with it usually depend on what you associate with the age you progress to, just like with regression.
- Age progression "gear" would probably be pieces of clothing or various objects and accessories you'd associate with how you see yourself and the specific age range you progress to.
- "But how does this sound like a good coping mechanism to anyone? Adulthood has a lot of responsibilities!" And adulthood is/will (usually) also be the point where you slowly start to find your place in the world or get a consistent job/routine. The monotony and consistensy can be comforting to some people especially in the chaotic world we live in, an agepro might progress because they want to live in the ideal future they want to have at that age, or that they want to feel like the hardships of being their current bodily age are behind them.
An elderpro/seniorpro might feel like they can let go of responsibilities and feel like their hardships are behind them when they have a fantasy of being retired, as an example.
- If you're a fictionkin, otherkin etc. and your species/kin is of an age longer than a human's lifespan, take the age ranges as mental equivalents, not physical! I progress to 60s-70s despite being a millions of years old bot [kin age].
- (This one's a bit obvious but still) Agepro isn't a kink, it's a coping mechanism just like agere. I won't go too deep into the kink stuff though since I'm not really comfortable talking about it on public social medias. Agepro does not always mean the person can consent (to sexual advances) either, this always depends on the person!
- Agepro activities, moodboards/stimboards, etc. usually depend on the era you feel like you "grew up" in when you're progressed (what you'd find nostalgic if you were that age), this isn't always the case but it usually is the basis for things like moodboards. These activities, moodboards, stimboards etc. can also be based on what you think your ideal future at that age would be like.
- As stated before, agepro isn't a joke hypothetical reverse of agere, agepro is a real thing and is not a mockery of age regression. If it's not harmful to regress into a younger headspace as a coping mechanism then it isn't harmful to do the opposite either. [There can be risks with both, but still]
- Agepros can be caregivers but may also need some of their own, not all agepros will be a caregiver or want to do such a thing (this is so nobody has the thought process of "oh they become older? i can have a parent/big sib/etc?" always ask the progressor if thats what they want)
- "I sometimes feel older than I am, is this agepro?" It can be if you feel that this term describes your experience whether voluntary or not.
- "An alter of mine is older than the body/feels older than the body, is this agepro?" It can be if that alter wants to describe it that way.
I hope this is a good guide for a subject barely talked about :]

So I decided to create this post as an info guide for readers who are following the TW&TW saga. It's hard to know the world and I do my best to describe it in detail but if you have questions, I'll do my best to answer in this post. From even races and culture, races in general, tribal affiliations, magic, and more, I have you covered!
What is the name of the nation in TW&TW?
Faerûn is the name of the world in this series and it is composed of many countries and cultures as well as crazy landscapes. This is one of the Three Realms for this AU.
Do you have a map of the world in TW&TW?
YES! I try to stay as close to this map as possible with the story so if you're ever confused about a location, take a look!
How many races are there in the world?
Oh jeez, there are the main races and several ethnicities under each. In the story, you'll be seeing about 7 or 8 races and ***SPOILER ALERT*** various species of beasts.
