Respite || Eros and Thanos
After Thanos had acquired the Infinity Gauntlet, a cataclysmic disaster that still ended in his defeat, the entire event had been undone - erased from spacetime and reality. It had been wiped from the minds of nearly everyone in their entire universe, and it was said by the cosmic giants that those who remembered went insane.
'Sane,' of course, was a subjective term as far as Eros was concerned. Yes, he had been forced to be a witness, and yes, he had endured horrific and sick torture along with Nebula, but it had been several Terran years since the incident and he was fine (in his opinion). Plus, while wielding the gauntlet, Thanos had been at the height of insanity, and losing it had perhaps given the Titan some of his sanity back. That was why Eros was going to finally visit him at his homestead - which he had to see to believe.
The Titanian calendar counted time based on Earth's movements because that was where they came from, which meant that the 'once a year' that Mentor made them promise to meet on friendly terms came around quite often. These meetings had understandably been somewhat tense for the past decade and a half or so since Thanos had nearly wiped Titan of all life and civilization, his own mother included, and then colonized it with his brutish allies and sparked what could only loosely be called a civil war.
But while Eros could fear his brother, be angry at his brother and devote everything to defeating his brother, he found that he could not hate his brother. It was not in Eros's nature to hate, no matter how hard he suspected his brother tried to make him (which probably wasn't that hard, since Eros was naught but a flea in comparison). So it was that he descended from the sky with trepidation, but with a buried secret gladness at being able to see his kin without conflict.
