Oh my gosh! Could you please please do a Wessa Valentine fix for me? It's Will and Tessa's first valentines together and Will wants to make sure Tessa remembers it so he takes her out on Balious and Xanythous! But this is Will, so something possible happens?
This made me so happy! So I know this is a day late, but better late than never yeah? I apologize for this not being as historically and character-personality accurate because I havenât read TID since CP2 came out and havenât read it since because itâs still too soon and it hurts a lot. Â But I hope you enjoy this!
âAnd a beautiful world we live in, when it is possible, and when many other such things are possible, and not only possible, but doneâ done, see you!â under that sky there, every day.â The tall dark hair, blue-eyed man exclaimed.  Will was waiting at the library where everyone was at the moment, alternating from reciting paragraphs of Tale of Two Cities to singing about his loathing of many things that irritated him.
Needless to say everyone wanted to slap him.
âGood God is it possible for you to ever shut your mouth?â Gabriel cried from his place at the table, next to Cecily.
âOh little Lightwood, of course I can shut my mouth! It would be terrible if I couldnât! Think of all the bugs that would fly in. I am not very fond of those little pest. A little too crunchy for my taste.â
âYou know thatâs not what I meant,â Gabriel muttered.
âI know exactly what you meant, I just chose to answer your question. If you phrased it differently, maybe you would get the answer you were looking for, but alas you were too stupid not to.â
âI swearââ Gabriel stood up from his seat about to charge at Will before Cecily held him down.
âSit. Now.â Cecily whispered to Gabriel, who sank down in his seat with the face of a punished dog. âWill, are you not supposed to take Tessa out for Valentineâs day? Why are you still here?â
Her brother was now lounging against a bookshelf, with his nose in another book. âYes, I am. But Charlotte had stolen her from me after breakfast and I told her to meet me in the library when she was done.â Will responded without looking up.
âMaybe she simply didnât want to go out? This is your first Valentineâs with her, yes? Perhaps she got a case of the nerves?â Gideon asked.
âOo thatâs a first! The infamous William Herondale, left waiting for a girl. This is a monument day in history!â Â Gabriel exclaimed, throwing his arms into the air.
Will glanced up from his book and glared daggers at both Lightwood boys. âGideon, I like you. Please donât ruin this fantastic friendship we have, because when I donât like someone, you receive an onslaught of embarrassment. Ask your brother, heâll tell you.â Will winked at Gabriel before turning to him. âNow you, at least I have something extravagantly planned for my love one. And you? Youâre taking my sister up to the training room? If she didnât threaten me for hurting you I would slap you, Gabriel Lightwood. My sister deserves better than that.â
A blush rose onto Gabrielâs cheeks. âI asked her what she wanted to do and she told me she just wanted to train!â
âOr maybe she thought you were incapable of romance,â Will said with a smirk.
âWhoâs incapable of romance?â Tessa appeared at the entrance of the library, making her way towards Will. As soon as he heard her voice, his eyes lit up and a dazzling smile spread across his face. Everyone could notice the difference. After Will had found that his âcurseâ was broken and finally was set to marry the girl he loved, he was a completely different person. He cared more deeply than anyone at the institute, and if you thought he talked too much before, he talked even more now.
âMy dear Tess, you look absolutely beautiful.â Tessa could see the sincerity in his eyes, so blue that it left her speechless. Every time she was with him it made her heart swell and she felt whole.
âOh, by the Angel, never in my life have I been more pleased to see you, Tessa.â Gabriel exasperated. âPlease take your beloved away from here. I fear that if I am with him any longer I might strangle him.â
âIf you could even get a hold of me in the first place!â
Tessa laughed. âOkay Will, letâs go.â She grabbed hold of his arm and guided him out of the room. âGoodbye Lightwood boys and Cecily! Weâll see you later!â Will attempted to turn back and say something, but Tessa kept her hold firm.
âSometimes I just wish all the Lightwoods would just turn into worms. It would make life so much easier.â
Tessa rolled her eyes. âYou donât mean that. I think you secretly like them! Â Your sister is being courted by one.â
Will made a sound of disgust. âWhy would you ever say that I liked them? I tolerate Gideon because at least he has the decency to be nice. Gabriel on the other hand, oh I wish Cecily had better taste in men!â
"And what kind of men should she be courting?"
"Men that are as great as me! Not like that little brat Gabriel. But enough about the Lightwoods. Today is about us.â
âYes, that is true. But you havenât even told me where we are going!â
âThatâs what makes it a surprise, Loveâ
âCan I guess?â Tessaâs eyes lit up like a childâs.
Will gave her a smile. âI love how you get so excited by the simple things in life.â
Tessa grinned back, âWhatâs not to get excited about when I get to share those simple things with you?â
Willâs arm snaked behind Tessaâs waist. âIâm going to have you close your eyes now, okay?â
Tessa nodded her head and closed her eyes. Will lead her down a flight of stairs and she heard the creak of a door opening. Within seconds, the sharp London wind gusted across their faces. February in London still meant that it was almost intolerable to stay out in the snow for more than a few hours. Tessa could feel the snowflakes melt into her skin.
âI hope you wore your most comfortable gown, Tess.â Will whispered into her ear. She could feel his warm breath fan down her neck, eliciting gooseflesh on her bare skin. âOpen your eyes.â
Tessa opened her eyes and right at the gates of the Institute stood Balios and Xanthos, ready and saddled with bright red reins. âWill, what is this? Are we waiting for a carriage?â
A devilish smirk crossed his features. âTessa, what would be memorable about that? Ride around in a carriage in the snow, we wouldnât make it twenty feet without getting stuck. Weâre going riding.â
Tessa looked utterly baffled. Yes, sheâs ridden a horse before but never in the snowâŚ
Will noticed her uncertainty and leaned down to give her a peck on the lips. âWe are shadowhunters. Some ice and snow canât stop us from doing anything. And,â He swayed a little closer to her. âI have a special place I want to show you. So come on.â
Tessa chose to ride Balios, since she felt that she owed the horse for bring Will all the way to Idris to save her from Mortmain. With her companion on Xanthos, they trotted the horses outside the gates.
âWhich way are we going?â
Will pointed straight ahead. âHead for Hyde park. Once weâre there Iâll lead the way.â The roads were empty of carriages making the vast city of London look almost empty.
Tessa looked over at Will before charging ahead. She turned her head back, a wild smile on her face. âIâll race you there!â
âBloody hell, I love her.â Will nudged at Xanthos and raced after her.
Once Will had caught up with her, he convinced her to ride alongside him the rest of the way. They finally had a chance to talk, something that didnât happen as often. Throughout the day, they were always surrounded by someone, whether it be Gabriel and Cecily, Henry and Charlotte, or even Gideon and Sophie. The only time they could be alone was at night, and even then Charlotte would send Will on a night mission, or Cecily would lock herself in Tessaâs room where they would spend the night chatting away.
As they rode, they talked about everything. From why Wuthering Heights couldnât even compare to the Tales of Two Cities, to why Churchâs head was so giant. It reminded both of them of why they fell for each other in the first place, and made them fall a little bit more.
Once they were in Hyde park, Will lead them on an off path that lead them to a small clearing where a large rock lay on its side. A small frozen pond sat in the middle of the clearing. Will got off of his horse, assisted Tessa down and tied Balios and Xanthos to a nearby tree.
âWill, this place is beautiful!â Tessa said in wonder. She could tell that there was a veil, hiding this little spot from all the mundanes. The bare trees sparked with icicles. The pond must have held some sort of magic because under the surface of the ice, the water shifted in colours, from deep blue to bright pink.
Will took her hand and led her to a nook in the rock. âI found this place one time when I was still new to London. Not many people know about it, and of course mundanes canât find it. I come here whenever I canât stand being at the Institute, and I thought that I should share this special place with a special girl.â They ducked into the nook and Tessa found that it was significantly warmer inside. Inside it was more than just a nook. The space was carved deep inside the large rock, like a cave. Will pulled out two witchlight stones and set them on the floor. The space was illuminated in a soft pale light, revealing thick blankets on the floor, as well as a pile of books in a corner.
âDo you like it?â Will said. Uncertainty laced his voice. It was only with Tessa that he ever showed this self consciousness.
When Tessa met his eyes, he could see tears welling up at the corners of them. âWill, this is perfect. Iâve never had anyone do anything like this for me before.â A gloved hand reached up to cup his face. âWilliam Herondale, I am catastrophically in love with you.â
His blue eyes were filled with love. âAnd I am catastrophically in love with you too. Happy Valentineâs day, my love.â Soon Tessaâs lips were on his, moving slowly at first. Will held her gently, pulling her to his chest, wanting to touch every part of her.
âWhat happened to the Will who was all fire and passion?â Tessa whispered with a challenging sparkle in her eyes. In seconds, Willâs blue eyes went so dark they were almost black.
âOh, Tess,â His lips were on herâs again, moving with ferocity. She could feel his hands everywhere, pulling the pins out of her hair, running his hands along her arms. They sank down onto the blankets and Tessa found herself on her back. Her body was on fire. Her hands reached to slip off his jacket, then her fingers danced their way down his chest unbuttoning his shirt. Willâs mouth moved reverently down her neck, sending jolts of heat through her body.
Soon enough, Will broke the silence. âTess, your toenails are really sharp,â Will rasped, not stopping with continuing down her neck.
âWill what are you talking about? I still have my shoes on,â Tessa responded breathlessly, arching her back when she felt his teeth graze sensitive flesh.
âThen what isââ Will jerked away. âBy the Angel something bit me!â The two of them turned around and found a duck starring back at them. Tessa could feel Willâs muscles become taut.
âWill, itâs okay donâtââ
âTHAT BASTARD HOW DID YOU EVER GET IN HERE? GET OUT BEFORE I CHOP YOUR HEAD OFF!â Will was on his feet at an instant with two seraph knives in his hands.
âWill!â Tessa cried, jumping up to put her arms at his waist. âItâs okay. Just sit down and Iâll take care of it okay?â When he didnât respond, Tessa gently took his chin and turned it so he met her eyes. âOkay?â
Will nodded reluctantly and threw the blades on to the floor, sinking down onto the blankets and folding his legs indian style. Tessa had to restrain herself from laughing. The man she was in love with was sitting on the floor like a child, frightened by ducks. Oh, how she loved him. Tessa led the duck outside and stacked up some rocks to make a door to the cave. Once she was back, Will was lying on his back looking at the ceiling.
âAre you okay?â Tessa came to sit next to him.
âYes, but alas, never trust a duck, those bastards.â Will sat up and faced her. âNow, where were we?â They met each otherâs lips with smiles, and when they woke up the next morning, all limbs and skin, they both agreed that it was a Valentineâs day to remember.
