cuz it's terror time again...
That side quest Brother's Keeper doesn't get talked about enough.
Amy has a lot of trauma already but seeing poor Bardolph Beaumont's corpse just added to it because she has a brother too. To her, this is unforgivable and all she could do was put him out of his misery. And then make the ashwinders pay.
Logically he'd known Inferi were likely people at some point, it made sense, but such a fact had never truly sunk in during his prior encounters with them, he'd simply considered them an obstacle, one of the many dangerous creatures of the magical world.
That had been before his trip to Upper Hogsfield, before agreeing to help find Claire Beaumont's brother Bardolph, before he'd been told to keep an eye out for a man in a hand made wool sweater.
He'd thought he stumbled upon some ruins, not the first time, certainly not the last, when the gangly Inferi stumbled from behind a wall and his eye zeroed in on the very sweater he was told to look out for.
A deep chill settled in his bones despite casting Incendio and Confringo repeatedly to the point he fears the flames were crawling up his fingers. No warmth would chase away the terror that overcame his very core.
Only after the last of them were incinerated did he stop, wand dropping from his hand as he shakily fell to the muddy ground, feeling nauseous.
What was he going to tell Claire?
