Inequality for All
1. Agree One statement that I agreed with what this film said was "Inequality is inevitable." In a mathematics perspective, an inequality is a relation that holds between two values when they are different. Basically it means that a is not equal to b. To simplify that on a humanistic perspective, it's basically a situation where someone has more rights or better opportunities than another. And the fact is, is that inequality is inevitable and nothing will ever be fair. Whether it's with life, job opportunities, or anything else that involves competition, someone is always going to get the short end of things and that's just how it is. Our economic system will never be the best in the world, and that goes for the same as any other economic system in any other country. (11.5)
2.  Disagree One statement that I don't agree with is that "people need an incentive to work hard." I understand that statement is saying that people need some type of motivation to do whatever they are doing, however I don't think it's true that some people keep working harder and harder to get like a bonus or a raise. I feel as if though people are just working to survive and to build a stable foundation for themselves and their families. (11.8)
3. Need More Information In the film, Robert Reich said something about how the rules of the market keep everything somewhat stable and in order. I just don't understand, what are the rules of the market and are they written down somewhere? Where do they come from and who makes them? What are they based off of? Is there a better way to the economy better by changing some of the rules or is this as good as it's going to get? He also talked about a globalization meaning. What exactly is globalization and if there's a meaning to it why isn't it used more often? From my understanding globalization is taking items from different markets from around the world to help benefit or increase the value of whatever you have already. Globalization not only helps with international trade, but international cultural exchange. (9.5)
Documentary: Agree, Need More Information & Disagree
While observing "Inequality for All" starring Robert Reich, I strongly agree with how he stressed how the middle class is important to economics. Reich states,  “If those coping mechanisms are exhausted, the economy is not going to grow, because the middle class and the poor no longer have the purchasing power to keep the economy going.” In addition, the middle class is the largest class out of the other two, therefore emphasizing his point even further.
During the documentary, Reich mentioned that capitalism can be good. Throughout time capitalism has been thought as something negative because it brought forth the idea of being under total control with numerous restrictions. Looking more into the topic, I came to realize that it can be beneficial. This can help the economy grow with firms and individuals facing incentives to be innovative and work hard. This would then create an impact of innovation and economic expansion, which can then lead to improved living standards. This can also eliminate certain people to have more advantages than others.

Reich mentioned the automated self check out systems used at grocery stores. His view point was that it would take money and work away from the workers. In my opinion, it will neither cause harm nor benefit the workers. Either way the workers would still be there. The automated self checkout systems can break down and a worker would need to be in charge of fixing the problem. There are also times where costumers are only interested in self check out if the live cashier isn't available, so the self automated check out system will remain in its quantity. There are also certain produce that can be difficult to purchase. For example, when you want to buy vegetables or fruit you would have to search the product and weigh it, and most of the time if you don't follow the exact instructions it will say that the nearest employee will be directed to your direction for help. This would then take longer compared to actually going to an actual worker.
