but i also think that some people are doing it for the followers because let’s be honest the pro palestine side is huge. i don’t know her but i guarantee you she is doing projects with brands that support genocide (because most companies do) - maybe she is not aware but her followers usually buy into it (especially BTS fans). What I mean by that is when they see their ‘idol’ buying or promoting something, they have to own it. That is consumerism and that is funding genocide through her and her group. If she hasn’t actually verbally spoken and has only put posts that require not much effort to post (and no caption that requires the effort to speak about it) then it does not count. This is crowd following at its peak.
i agree until you said the "i don't know her but i guarantee you she is doing projects with brands that support genocide." if you don't know her then how can you guarantee that she does sponsor zionist brands...? don't just baselessly say that, if you're going to say that, please research.
your point is correct, but i did touch on what could happen to celebs who are outspoken about palestine- blacklisted with no jobs available. (like melissa barrera.) we dk if theres zionists in JYPE (like in HYBE, where many are boycotting). they can easily threaten her job and her money.
while i wish more idols could be open about this, you also have to consider that their reputation is everything. Unfortunately in this instance people consider it a 'political issue' instead of a genocide, so taking a 'stance' on this 'issue' (which is completely stupid, there is the side of the people and the side of the terrorist occupation) is how some netizens use that as a way to abuse and threaten idols.
example when tzuyu raised the Taiwanese flag and was verbally abused online, and she had to apologize for being nationalistic in her country.
again, i know in SK theres many pro-palestine people but TWICE is popular globally, and companies want money. they can't say anything because there could be possible backlash from zionists, causing the company to get less money.
its unfortunate. and its enraging, but the best we can do is continue to boycott and as long as you are speaking, then thats enough.
