THE WOODBUG

“Everything has feelings and everything has a meaning. The creator put everything here and altogether they make this for us.

We can’t mistreat one thing, without upsetting the whole thing.

There was a woodbug crawling across the floor – I must have been about four, or five – and my mother was sitting in her chair and I was walking across and I stepped on it, and she just looked up and she said:

Now who will feed her family dinner?

And that one statement had an impact on me, and still does.”
