Money for IDs, Security on Sale?
When it comes to terror attacks in India, it seems our governmentтАЩs record-breaking тАЬzero toleranceтАЭ promises are as sturdy as the Delhi Red FortтАЩs shattered windows after the recent car blast. Since 2014, we keep hearing that no terror will cross the gates of тАЬNew India.тАЭ Yet, year after year, the gates swing openтАФwhether itтАЩs Pathankot, Pulwama, Reasi, or, just now, DelhiтАЩs iconic heart being bombed! Every incident, from BengaluruтАЩs 2014 bombing to PahalgamтАЩs mass killing in 2025, happens under the vigilant watch of the so-called тАЬmost powerfulтАЭ security & intelligence system.
If power means making big speeches and avoiding responsibility, our ministers should get medalsтАФbecause not one, not two, but over a dozen major attacks have occurred since the same leaders took charge. No resignations. No genuine accountability. Just more grandstandingтАж and the only thing retiring seems to be public trust.
Does our country run on тАЬSab Chalta HaiтАЭ or on the hard cash Dalals grab while making fake Aadhar, Voter ID, or Driving Licence for anyone who knocks? Ask Delhi or Pulwama families what price was on their loved onesтАЩ lives when forged IDs greased the way for bombs and bloodshed. Whenever those responsible get тАЬcaught,тАЭ itтАЩs the small players who vanish or reappear next year with another paper trail, while mastermind facilitators keep escaping the NSAтАЩs net with one WhatsApp message to their netas.
Question for our police and investigation agencies: how many fake identity rackets will you тАЬexposeтАЭ before we see actual punishment? Have the middlemen working for terror factories become more valuable than our countryтАЩs safety? If not, why are NSA charges reserved for showpiece announcements, and why do ministers only resign in foreign countries? Sometimes, the irony is as sharp as a forged stamp on ID paperтАФa police force that chases the evidence only after the blast and Dalals who sell the next bomb, one ID at a time.
In тАЬNew India,тАЭ cash counts more than courage, and тАЬinvestigationтАЭ is often just a PR parade. A bomb in Delhi, a bus in Reasi, a massacre in PahalgamтАФwhose turn is it next? If security is a commodity, maybe every citizen should get an invoice before the next attack.
