Helping Wounded Veterans Through WWP's Independence Program
Based in Philadelphia, Matzi Ben-Maimon is the owner of Matzi Builders & Developers and is currently working on a project called The Eight on Race. On top of his business ventures, Matzi Ben-Maimon is a supporter of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). Organized in 2003, WWP was founded to help veterans who received physical or mental injuries during the course of their military service on or after September 11, 2001. To best serve the veterans under its scope, WWP offers several programs that look after the general welfare of wounded veterans. One such program is the Independence Program. The Independence Program helps wounded veterans maximize their potential. In order to achieve this, WWP implements a host of services. One service includes giving veterans access to individualized services appropriate to the dynamic needs of the veteran at absolutely no cost, such as the necessary therapies required in neurological injuries. This program provides support in order for the veteran to participate in social and recreational activities, volunteer work, and more.
