you know something about lando getting on that stage and saying "you know how the media changes things" there were so many junior drivers, people who didnt know f1 etc who saw that montage and thought so differently about lando. then he went on stage and i know how many people from motorsport in that room have to agree w him when he said media changes things because theyve probably witnessed the same thing happen to them. the fia and dts all suck. they think its so simple to just paint these drivers however they like not knowing or considering the long term effects either? it probably taught junior drivers a lesson too about media literacy or not letting the media bring u down. i need more of this backlash to the media and fia they all suck
this reminds me of lewis saying that the rookies coming in next year will have to be most careful about the things they say because the media is cruel and will twist words. i mean, those weren't his exact words, but the sentiment was the same.
i'm glad that lando said what he said on stage. it felt like a big fuck you to the fia for misusing the words he said. it felt like a big "i know what youre doing, i stayed silent before, im not gonna stay silent now".
honestly, if based on the montage, anyone thought of lando differently, wait till they know him or meet him personally. i mean, the guy said "well done, mate, congratulations" to all three of those junior drivers. he's not a bad person, and we know that, and when people finally, really see him as that, things will change.
for the fia and dts, it is easy to paint the drivers in any way or form because its getting them money. i mean, this season was so entertaining, a lot more people are going to watch dts now, and thats exactly what netflix and the fia wanted. they don't truly care about the drivers, as long as theyre earning money. someone somewhere said that the rich are always greedy for more, and i feel like the fia is a prime example of that.
i do hope that the media is not cruel to the junior drivers, though we know that that's not possible. what i will agree though, is that the junior drivers can really learn from this, and see the way lewis, lando, max, carlos, and countless other drivers have been facing backlash from the media and how they let it roll it off their backs. it sucks that this is the case in the first place, but it makes a lot of difference.
i do want more calling out of the media and the fia in general. i do want the drivers to call out the media on their bullshit. max, lewis, carlos, and lando have done it this season already. i think, charles has also done it with regards to the charlos issue happening post lv. but, its really them against the media + fia + fans.
yeah, the fia and the media can suck it.
