i don't really ship them to begin with, but i've been thinking- inao and phra lo would be better as an "opposites attract" sort of deal. every slash fic i've seen of them has positioned them as equals, and i personally don't find the argument for that ( they're both poly, they're both kinky little fecks ) too compelling.
i see lo as quite naïve, in spite of his sexual appetite. sure, he's under a love-spell for a significant portion of the story, but even then, there's a sort of shallowness to his character ( and not just on a meta level- in fact, if anything, i feel like there is more substance to the character of phra lo when you examine the story from that point of view ). pretty face without much behind it. led on by enchantments, by fate ( not unlike a certain tolomeo, re d'egitto ).
meanwhile inao's much more forward about things. sure, his plans aren't always well thought-out ( AHEM AHEM the beginning of the kamang-kuning episode AHEM ) but he comes up with them. he takes initiative. and in general he's just a spicy sort of guy, y'know. saucy. cheeky. whatever. right at the start he's attending a funeral but is not above taking the opportunity to flirt with a cute girl, that's one example.
