I think that ep9 did a pretty good job of affirming (quite on the nose) that at the end of it all, Alicent is a victim.

#because can we talk about how the only reason Rhaenys didn’t dracarys them all is because she wanted ALICENT to do it #the way she sold herself and her body and her whole life to retain her power #but at the end of it all none of it is actually hers #how being kind is always looked down upon but Alicent decided ‘don’t touch rhaenyra’ and actually STOOD UP to her father for the first time #in ever #(I reached the tag character limit)#i love this episode #and I think it also did a relatively good job in defining rhaenys as a character #in a way I can’t really put into words #but it feels very ‘solidarity with women’ for some reason #house of the dragon #anyway
