MUSTLE: I Must Hustle
This is an excerpt from my new book:
“Those of us from the “hood” (and I absolutely despise that label, however I will use it for now) think formal education
is superior in every regard to life’s lessons and general ex- perience- that’s not always the case. I used to think the stuff I learned selling shoes was just ghetto shit that had no parallel in the “real business” world. That’s a fallacy. The basis of all business is the transaction of goods and services for profit. To supply those who have a need with a viable solution that they are willing to exchange for some- thing of value. If you have done that in some way success- fully; you have done business.
I respect knowledge and information. I am a big advocate of education, period! However education is not synonymous with a school. A degree, diploma or certificate alone is not a guarantee of understanding or expertise; a grade cannot measure intelligence. If you have real life experience, never discredit or discount its importance.”
