No one or nothing can truly understand how it feels to be in the shoes of someone who suffers from depression. There are no words to explain how you feel but here goes nothing, Ill try to give you an understanding so that you will never judge a person going through this. You feel as if your inside a box that is constantly closing in and suffocating the life out of you. You’ve cried so much that you don’t have anymore tears to cry. You feel so alone and hopeless and you want to give up on life. Your friends try to give you advice but they’ve never worn your shoes so the advice they give only reaches you surface deep and goes in one ear and out the other. Depression is so dark and gloomy and you want to escape this gloomy cloud and find your happy place but happy is miles and miles away. If this is you I totally understand it because I live it everyday. These past few months have been long and hard and I’ve wanted nothing more than to get out of this place. But somehow I have a little bit of hope to get me through these long nights. I believe that one day I’ll look back and say wow girl, you made it. I know there is a rainbow waiting somewhere, a room full of the sunshine and until then Ill wait in the darkness. I’ll call on God even though I don’t hear him responding back to me. Tomorrow has to be better than today. I’m not giving up, ‘Im just sharing how hard it is to be consumed with depression. Does anyone else understand what I’m going through?
