A reminder that the International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP) is Canadian and also completely free to use and contribute to and contains a frankly massive quantity of public domain music scores including arrangements and recordings.
Americans, be a little careful with the copyright if you’re using the scores commercially because our public domain laws use a shorter period of time but for almost all the works, you should be okay.
Listened to this piece 53 times today, so obsessed, Piazzolla is based. Went on IMSLP to find the score so I can play it...

Things To Consider While Practicing Your Orchestra Part For The First Time:
• @justanotherpiccplayer is right: imslp & good recording in your headphones are your best friends. Use them wisely.
• It’s a good idea to practice with an audio, but don’t try to sightread your part while playing said audio for the first time
• Even if you know the piece by ear, you probably don’t know your whole piece (unless you’re a violin, sometimes? idk.) Before you start practicing, listen to the piece a couple of times while following your section’s score to acquaintance yourself with it.
• That may be silly, but I’ve just made that mistake: make sure you’ll be able to play your part ;) Also, I’m prone to print too much sheet music, and end up not playing the pieces at all. Make sure you don’t overwhelm yourself (guess it’s a universal rule.)
Hey guys, I was talking to my friend who was less educated on classical music and realized there was no way for people to find amazing pieces without sifting through all the cliche things they’ve heard in movies and all that. So this blog will basically be me giving little descriptions of lesser known pieces that more people should know, and will serve as a way for people to educate themselves on classical music. You can submit pieces through asks, just please make sure it’s on imslp or include a link to a score. I will occasionally do some more well known pieces, because they’re important to know about too. Happy listening!
