cinema as an art form is a visual media - it's a way to direct focus, to highlight the unseen, to emote through motion. i'm tired of tv shows and movies (especially book adaptations!) telling me what i'm supposed to be seeing vs actually using this medium the way it could be. tv and film in general have become so formulaic, so strategic, and so reliant on cgi that the lack of creativity is apparent when watching.
i am watching this to feel something!!! to learn something!!! to be immersed in another world!!! i want to believe in what you've written.
don't just give me two people standing around saying that they're having a great time, show me two people having a great time. you want me to believe this person is powerful, don't just say they are, show it!!! in general, there is so much creativity that can be used in the world of film. why aren't these big budget shows utilizing it?
