DAY 22: CHICAGO, IL
We slept in after a very late night of watching the Biebs get roasted. It was absolutely gorgeous outside. We made coffee, set up the hammock and soaked in some rays while Pete went for a run (nothing new). Our plan today was to eventually go into town and get on one of those architectural boat tours weâd been hearing so much about, maybe do some shopping, walk around, and then meet Pete for some deep dish around 6 before heading to the IO theater to see a Shakespeare improv. We UBERed into the city and grabbed a bite at Potbelly, which had pretty decent soup and sandwiches. Kat thinks she got high from her ham sammy though, which I think is hilarious. We tried getting tickets for the boat tour, but they were sold out for the rest of the day. Bummer. Oh well, we got tix for the next morning at 11am. We could wake up and get downtown for that time right? Sure!
^Gorgeous morning for patio coffees

So change of plans, no boat today, so we walked up Michigan Ave towards Millennium Park, as it was a be-au-tiful day! The park was packed with families and kids, and lots of tourists, and people about, just enjoying the weather. So sunny and warm, but not too hot. *Sigh* I really hope itâs like this in Toronto. We saw that fountain with those brick things with people faces on them. You know the ones. Iâm not sure what theyâre called, but you know, right? Just north of that was the bean, which was pretty packed, but you just gotta take pics in/near/by/at it. You just gotta!Â

^Oh gross, my mouth
We sauntered up to the Magnificent Mile, walked by so many Garrettâs Popcorn shops. Mmmmm. The whole friggin Mile smells like that popcorn i think. Amazing. We didnât want to get the popcorn yet though, cause we were planning on buying a shit ton of it and didnât want to carry it around. We also just didnât go into many shops, except the shop at the top. Top Shop. Sorry. BUT, there was a massive candy store! And they had ICE CREAM PILLOWS! But they were supes espense....like everything else on the Mile :(

^Our deep dish pizza at Pequodâs. The look on PJâs face says it all
We kind of lost track of time, so grabbed yet another UBER towards Pequodâs Pizza to meet up with Pete at 6 for some Deep ass dish. OMG this pizza was insane. We ordered a large like a bunch of chumps, and had 2 slices left at the end. It was 8 slices of deep dish goodness, cheese, pepperonis, mushroomsâŚheavenly. Deep dish pizza is just something you have to get in Chicago. It will never unsatisfy. Especially if youâre obsessed with food like we are.
We rolled out of there and walked towards IO to see the Improvised Shakespeare Company. The show was absolutely insane, definitely one of the best improv showâs Iâve ever seen. EVER. In my life! Itâs exactly as itâs show name sounds- a completely improvised show from start to finish, but all in Shakespearean language and themes. The complexity of the characters and emotion, and simply rhyming (not ACTUALLY simple though, as I know from trying to rhyme in a basic musical improv class, and I could never do it!) were beyond anything any of us have ever seen. When the show was over, we couldnât stop blabbering about it. Literally. For hours we talked about it, brought up hilarious, smart as F scenes, as we walked (very slowly because of all the alcohol and happiness) towards our apartment,Â

Before going home though, we wanted to pick up some more booze to have a night of it. But instead we stumbled into a lively karaoke bar. I donât remember what it was called or where it was, but it was packed and there was a LOT of karaoke happening. We stayed for a drink, because once I found out where we were on the list, we decided we didnât want to stay (we were #23), and so the world will never hear Heather & Katrinaâs rendition of âIgnition Remix.â Â Andrea and Pete were blessed enough to listen to it over and over on the walk/UBER home. Oh what a great way to end a hilarious night- drinking wine with friends and laughing about how much fun we had. Iâm not trying to rub it in or anything, we just had a great time. You should check out IO guys, just do it. I promise, no regrets. xo

We're so proud of iO alum Seth Meyers as he lights up our TVs nightly, smoothly transitioning into his much anticipated role as the Late Night host! Check out this clip, as Seth recalls with nostalgia a simpler time.
Gonna be in Chicago from 22-24 Dec. Any recommendations for improv shows at Second City/ iO?
Please and thank you!
