Itās so important to take care of yourself while in school or uni. Here, Iāll give some tips to do that easily. You donāt have to do big things at all - the small ones count too. Get going, and help yourself.
Yes. It freaking sucks and you have an assignment due in 5 hours, but if your body says stop, then stop. Email your professor and ask for extending the due date. They will understand.
Your body needs it, your brain needs it, and actually, sleep helps processing the information. So yes, go get your sleep and hopefully 7-8 hours. Every sleep cycle is 90 minutes, try to get sleep so you will wake up either in the start or end of one. Sleep, for godās sake. You can get insane if you donāt.
You have a freaking heavy to do list and you donāt do anything? Yeah, itās too big. Schedule 3-4 tasks per day for a start. Nothing more. 3-4Ā āsmallā things seems less overwhelming. When those are done, maybe add one or two more if you have time to complete a task more. Or you can relax.
You need it, it will prevent you from burnout, and you gotta be social too - or just havingĀ āyou time.ā You will be thankful for it.
Alright, now off to small tips sorted for time.
- Splash some cold water in your face to get going and refreshen. Itās nice.
- Brush your teeth. Bonus: if you maintain good, dental hygiene you wonāt have to go to the dentist as often or get things done besides the check, and it will save you money.
- Drink a glass of water. You probably need it, and your body will be thankful. Water is essential, please do something to make your body function. It will keep you from headache too.
- Brush your hair. Messy hair isnāt nice, especially not if itās greasy. Put away from your face too. Eventually use some dry shampoo to make it less greasy.
- Breathe. Take a deep breath, get some air in, and let it out slowly. Calm down.
- Open your window. Get some fresh air, let your room smell nice too, and help your brain function. You need it. Itās disgusting not to let fresh air in. Your room will end up smelling and feeling horrible.
- Change temperature. Too cold or too hot? Change it. I prefer my room being a little cold, some prefer a little hot. Keep the temperature comfortable and good for working and sleeping.
- Do the plank. Auchies, yes, but it helps your body get going + you strengthen all the core muscles. Itās nice, itās healthy, and it only takes a couple of minutes. Do this every day. Your body will say thank you very much.
- Change your bedsheets. Try to do this every week, or at least once in the month. Change the pillow case every week at least. The sheet and duvet case can wait. Your skin in your face will be happy if you change the pillow case often.
- Change clothes. Still in pyjamas or wearing the same clothes for the 3rd day now? Change it, feel more fresh. Itās nice.
