Improper Greetings // Bucky & Pepper
The streets and buildings of Diagon Alley were lightly dusted with a the first light snow of winter which meant the arctic fox trotting down a side street was leaving paw prints as well as somewhat blending into the elements. Once it was safe, the soldier shifted to his human form and straightened out his long coat to make himself more presentable.
With the students in class, it was the perfect time for him to head into town in hopes of finding out more about the Barnes family vault as well as what had happened to his family. Hopefully he’d be back on grounds before his absence was noted.
Pale eyes glanced down at the silver hand that would be a dead give away to who he was and he muttered a cloaking spell which shifted the metal to human-like skin. Luckily he’d be greeting anyone with his right so it would be easy to hide the cold touch of his left. That done, he exited the alley and peered up at Gringrotts bank which stood directly in front of him. Without tearing his focus away, he reached into his pocket and withdrew a pink piece of paper from within.
On it was his family’s vault number. His thumb brushed over the indents of the numbers and he swallowed hard; steeled his nerves and crossing the street. He reached for the handle of one of two double doors and pushed it open to reveal a white marble floor with gold detailing that lead to a desk with goblins. The lobby was crowded with wizards and creatures alike and, for a brief second, he considered leaving but the need to know over-rode his fear and he bee-lined for an open teller when a blur of orange crashed into him. Or he crashed into it. He wasn’t quite sure.
Automatically he secured the figure with an arm around the waist to keep them from hitting the ground and he blinked down at the petite figure. It was a young woman with copper hair and.... a stain on her dress. His gaze flickered to the coffee cup twirling on the ground then up to her. “Are you okay?”
