this is such a cool shot!!! the super dramatic low angle really sells the “oh shit he’s above me” moment.

i love the low angle shot of this panel, forcing us to look up at arlong along with zoro and sanji.
these panels are just gorgeous. i love the dynamism and dramatic camera angles. there’s so much motion in the characters, both zoro and the bounty hunters, that is accentuated by the composition.
this is simply a beautiful panel. love the way the smoke effects wrap around hachi and his swords, and the dramatic angle and foreshortening.
this is a very fun dynamic shot for a panel that is just of yosaku talking. this chapter is mostly exposition, but i’m realizing that one way one piece avoids having these chapters be boring is that it avoids having most of the panels be just “talking heads”, which is what a lot of comics default to when the scene is mostly just of characters talking. look at the page this panel is on: we have 4 very different looking panels. this is the sort of thing that is really inspiring to me as a comic artist.

this is an impressive pov angle for a panel with a hilarious premise. the detail of the cracked and splintered wood is a really nice touch.
it’s thematically very fitting for zoro to make his promise to luffy with the wado ichimonji, the sword that represents his promise to kuina. (and yes i know that his other swords broke, but im talking about visual symbolism here from a meta perspective. zoro didn’t need to make his promise to luffy on a sword at all.)
also this small panel is fantastically drawn. great foreshortening and perspective.
aaahh this is so good! the absolute trust in usopp from all of his allies, zoro and the usopp pirates both — he deserves to see that people hold that kind of trust in him more often. also, more great foreshortening in the bottom left panel.
