Hi, my name is Livia Santos. I started studying English about 3 months ago but I have always had contact with this language since I was little (even though I don't understand anything), this language has a great impact on my life because it has always caught my attention. I don't use English as often these days because I don't have much knowledge of that language, especially when it comes to speaking. Writing in English is not that difficult for me, but speaking is my main nightmare. I thought it would be simpler because I consume a lot of content in English, but now I see that it's not what I thought. My base in English is not even the tip of the iceberg of so many contents that I still need to learn lol But in the meantime, we're going to try to develop in the only way possible, studying :)

My name is Thales, I am twenty five years old. I am a Civil Engineering student at UFRJ. I was born in a small town called Barra do Piraí. Nowadays, I am living in Laranjeiras. I am here to improve my English level, because I think this language is very important for my professional future in my career. I started to learn English at school when I was a child. I use English to communicate on the internet, read academic articles, learn necessary engineering tools and share my experiences with my English class at CLAC. I feel happy to be applying what I learn in English classes to my daily life. In addition, the knowledge of this language helps me to obtain information and a wider knowledge of the world. Learning a language other than my mother tongue helped me to be a more multicultural person. Speaking English contributes to my greater proximity to cultures other than mine and adds new knowledge to my life. The English language helps me on a daily basis, because in social networks and in college there is always some information or text that is in English and we need to analyze it to obtain knowledge and relevant information. That's why English is always directly present in my routine.
