week 13: Implementation
This week is fascinating because we can put our ideas, skills, and passion together completely. We went to school and had a productive meeting to develop our project. Also, face-to-face conversation is helping us to roll out the implementation list. We assigned production plan and tasks based on our research.
What is happing
California lacks the infrastructure to provide backup power and data access in power outage. Emergency system is an expensive and unsustainable energy for power distribution. In response to this problem, we offer public wireless power access in emergency situations and transform the existing open space.
Last week we were narrowed down to three directions. Every idea is linked, but it's not clear. We re-examined all three of our thoughts, identified the similarities and solved the missing ones. The business model and the pilot's location popped up right away, and we could decide the best combination of Grand Park LA X wireless charging X backup power. We put everything together to illustrate a better picture.
Make it truth
We continue to improve the solution. We finally committed the power supply for public wireless solutions. We took Jorge's idea into an open canopy to meet the public's needs. We struggled with low-income families, and how to reduce the cost of the product. We looked at different launch patterns and decided to give the pilot user groups use the system first, and their revenue which became the funding source for the project.
Time give it a name
We listed more than a dozen titles like City Hub, Air Hub, and Power Hub. These names represent advanced concepts but are used by other companies. Finally, we create an exciting name called "HubUP!" This means that the product can serve as a center to keep the power/connection up during the power outage
Me
Graphics and modeling are my favorite parts. I picked all the sketches and put them together as our model. I decided to develop a 3D model to showcase our solution.
·      The model shows how we can retrofit the solution to the public area (Grand Park LA)
·      Rendering shows activities with Los Angeles residents
·      Digital signals change their content over time for promotional and educational purposes
