Because I felt like writing angsty shit involving Macchi LAURA I'M DEDICATING THIS TO YOU
"What on earth happened!?" Panting, Kazama came to a stop, glancing from one man to the other. From what he could make out, Kiryu had hit it a lot harder than Maguchi; the poor guy couldn't even get off the floor while his fellow officer seemed to simply be suffering from a bloody nose.
At his colleague's arrival, the purple-haired officer let out a sigh of relief and put on a smile. As usual, Kazama's timing was something he could count on. Had he arrived only two minutes earlier he would have witnessed that Maguchi had been the one to take Kiryu down after the taller threw a punch at him. Sure, it had been his own fault for provocation the marked man like he had, but in the end, that only gave him reason to present the younger duellists with a few bruises of his own.
Their run-in had been pure coincidence, but it soon because clear that Kiryu was going to pretend he didnt recognise him. Not liking to be ignored, Maguchi was quick to move ahead and grab the younger man by his shoulder, shoving him into the nearest wall. "Walking past me without even saying hello? How rude of you, Kiryu. I thought we had something special," Maguchi purred, the tone of his voice being overly sweet and sarcastic. He was very well aware that Kiryu wanted to get as far away from him as humanly possible.
Instead of replying anything, Kiryu simple glared at the blue-eyed officer who had him pinned to the wall and let out a low growl. He hated that man with a passion and would love nothing more than bashing his face in right then and there, but he knew that was exactly what Maguchi was playing at and he wasn't going to play after his rules. Or so he thought, until he brought in his jerk of a brother. "What, did you forget how to fight back? Seems Mitsuki has you trained very well, I should congratulate him on his success."
That had been all it needed for Kiryu to snap. He was not a dog, especially not Mitsuki's, and despised being referred to as such. In one swift motion, Kiryu lifted his right knee, full-force kicking his assaulter between his legs. With a yelp, Maguchi released his grip on the taller duellist and let out a string of curses and, before the officer had time to collect himself, Kiryu's fist collided with his face, successfully breaking his nose.
For a short moment, Kiryu made the mistake of thinking himself the winner and just as he turned around to leave, he felt a hand around his ankle. Before he knew what was happening, Maguchi pulled on his leg, causing Kiryu to crash to the floor. Quickly, while the other still tried to process the situation, the purple-haired man rolled Kiryu onto his back and positioned himself above him. His ocean-blue eyes held a dangerous sparkle to them.
"You wanna play that game? Fine, let's fucking play," he hissed, holding Kiryu down with one hand while repeatedly crashing his other hand, which he curled to a fist, into his face.
"Who did this to you?" Kazama demanded to know as he made his way over to where Kiryu was still lying on the floor, his face covered with his own blood. "Answer me, Kiryu." But he didn't. Instead he let out a scoff and glanced to the side, well aware that Kazama was not going to believe him if he said it was Maguchi. Not only were both of them Security Officers, but friends as well. All he could do was lie. "I don't know, just some gang. Didn't recognise their faces."
He may not be able to call Maguchi out on his asshole behaviour right now, but one day he would get back to him for all of this.
