Shin Hansol - a summary

-- Hansol pretty much grew up in a very normal household. His parents were both Flares themselves, and Hansol had expected himself to have some sort of have some power that would be easily overlooked, except his powers never really manifested. He wasn’t upset either way, since it made no difference to him between having no powers and having powers that had no purpose, really.

-- Turns out he’s a late bloomer, and his abilities weren’t quite as easily ignored as he thought they would be. Hansol started having dreams that kept him up all night, and images flashing in his mind that made no sense at all. He finds out later that he has the abilities of Precognition, and initially refused to go to Imperium. After all, he saw no need to work on his abilities of looking into the future.

hyosik is the last child of three, and a curse upon his family. quite literally, when his father was a priest in training a woman (who he’d soon find out has dark magic abilities) was refused refuge for the night at the church and out of spite, put a curse upon their third child. ( sounds like the plot of a disney film right - it wont in a minute i promise ) one would think that answer to that would be simply, don’t have three children. unfortunately, hyosik was unexpected. catholics don’t do protection, and they certainly don’t think about abortion. and so he was born and though they expected him to be physically disfigured, they were both relieved and apprehensive to find that outwardly - nothing was wrong with him at all.

thankfully, he turned out to be normal. kim hyosik was quite talkative, a little restless in school, but generally.. he was a decent kid. as the years went by, talk of hyosik’s curse became less of a topic touched upon in their household and more of a laughable myth that had his father’s nose turning up haughtily at the mere mention. 

unfortunately, come his 15th birthday, something changed. after mass, his priest of a father stumbled upon one of the elder alter boys trying to have their way with hyosik, and when he had finally been pried off the younger boy he begun accusing the other of seducing him in his dreams. he screamed of the devil inside of this boy, and technically, he wasn’t wrong.

he’s a demon, though. same difference, to them. and as it begun to happen more and more - to congregation goers, neighbours, old, young, anybody - his father had made the final decision to get rid of him once and for all before he tainted the household with his ‘evil spirit’. for years up until his acceptance at the institute he had been thrown into foster care, where all of these cases duplicated to the point where he forced himself awake to not wake up in another person’s dreams. 

generally, hyosik is a very private person. some say it adds to his whole appeal and well, he’s not going to argue with that. he’d rather sit in silence and read a book than have a lengthy conversation about literally anything, he only cares about pretty faces when they’re sleeping and he can delve into their dreams, when they’re at their weakest, though it’s fucked up. he has troubles with emotions though and can’t necessarily express love or admiration or anything, because he’s literally lust embodied. 

to say he was the bad seed of his Good Catholic Family would be an understatement, but he was also the kid who got abandoned half way through school and it turned him into the very curse that they’d feared, which made him recoil into himself. he got into fights, was frequently suspended from school, ran with the Wrong Crowd, and eventually dropped out of high school. technically, he’s not even qualified to be at university. he’s more interested in having his pants around his ankles and just being a general man / woman eater. 

other facts about his abilities are that he gains boosted strength, speed, supernatural level of beauty and some magical abilities such as dealing with illusions and mental manipulation. sometimes when he becomes more powerful, physical changes can occur like fangs, claws, pointed tail and wings sprouting from various parts of his body. also, if you’ve got angel physiology you’ve literally got him trumped because he can’t do shit to you. so congrats. he’ll be pissed at the very fact. 

— earlier, i could’ve sworn i saw PARK CHAEYOUNG (ROSÉ) on campus, but it’s just SONG YESEUL. i heard they were sorted as a GLEAM and they’re only TWENTY years old majoring in FASHION MARKETING here at imperium, which isn’t surprising considering their ability is ADOPTIVE MUSCLE MEMORY. people call her the PEACH because she is supposedly EBULLIENT, but also COMPULSIVE but who knows if that’s true, it’s their ability that matters. has a younger brother by abt two years and ig you could say they were middle class

so most of her family bg is still up in the air for me but

her parents were always v big on education, wanting the best for their kids and to be cared for in their old age, so seulie and her brother were diligent in their studies as kids

however, she slipped away little by little and became a more lax student, hiding under the guise of working endlessly in her room when she was really just reading the new tw****** book ( yeah, i rly just censored that series lmao )

her grades were still good, she just didn’t get as into it and overwhelmed by it as before

without a doubt lost her shit when she learned that she had powers

i mean she prob learned she had them when she was fourteen and saw a huge fist fight between some kids at school.. before going home and accidentally punching her little brother in the face

is good at sports and dance mostly bc of her power.. but she’s also a walking safety hazard bc she’s clumsy af, so she steers clear of most sports for everyone’s sake

like cute guy or girl in the stands ? she’s taking the field hockey forward down with her when she trips on air and prob fucks them up bc they cushioned her fall

anyways her parents weren’t too peeved by this surprisingly ( at least her dad wasn’t lol ) as long as she didn’t nearly break her brother’s nose again jgfksd

ngl it was smooth sailing for the most part, unless you caught her off-guard with your presence or something, then she was a state with her movements 

prob took up a job at some local fast food place like every other teen to save for uni

so fast forward and she graduated !!! she thought she’d do medical science and had no real worries about changing her mind

got into imperium and was set on medicine.. until she finally began attending uni, about a month in and she was fucking clueless

on top of that, she had to adjust to so much concentration on her power that it was all a little surprising and foreign to her

so to sum it up, her first year saw her suffering with academics, and other aspects of her life at imperium, however for the most part, everything was p good and she was content

so after a while, seulie switched into fashion marketing and she loves it

her parents were p disappointed for a while bc of the switch in major and there was an evident strain on their relationship ( between her and her mom, at least ) but by now they’ve come around and she’s so thankful for that tbh ??

anyway she’s kinda a mess, not rly sure of what else to say lol

born from a jazz musician and an escort so pretty much charisma is inherited. and you can’t science me out of this one.

learned about her powers at like thirteen when she was in a science lab and realized they had to work with acids. just when it was about to spill on her hand and cause major emergency shower damage, she somehow managed to redirect it back into the vial. bless. she didn’t die. 

so she just messes around with acids in science labs, and spent too much time in the science classes and figuring out how terrible some acids are. 

one time, she was with her dad, and a loan shark was trying to beat the shit out of him, accidentally burned his face. and has no idea how it happened, but she just kind of was like...  o h shit. 

pretty traumatized. she went from redirecting acids into science labs to burning someone’s face. yeah, that’s no good. but hey, none of the loan sharks came back. 

BUTTT, after that mess, her dad was like it’s okay, honey, we’ll work through it, and helped her control her powers.

so a little bit about garbageboy stinkman –

his family are a little well known among supers, nothing legendary but that (combined with the fact that he’s an only child with narcissistic tendencies out the ass) still inflated his ego some

he was always given the best, so he feels like he really deserves the best whether that’s true or not. in short — he’s spoiled.

still, he’s very good at not quite acting like it. he’s very charismatic, for better or worse, an extremely two faced kind of person.

tbh when designing him and jaekyu i kind of laughed because they ended up foiling each other really well, jaekyu seems a lot harsher and worse than they are while kitae’s great with first impressions and maintaining images despite being a very flawed human being

speaking of, he’s really actually kind of prejudiced against flares and sparks. like, yikes, dude, who pissed in your cereal this morning?

but i suppose a society reaffirming those biases doesn’t exactly help so

aaaaanyway, his powers are those of illusions! he’s best with auditory or visual illusions, but given his gleam status he’s been known to use tactile ones as well.

he’s very into music (specifically, he sings, taught himself guitar, and has a classical background in harp! he’s messed around with a couple others but these are the instruments he’s played the most of), again with his keeping up of images and good at hiding his flaws? he likes to hide the things he’s bad at so he seems like he’s perfect/better than most, hence him majoring in something he both enjoys and knows damn well he has talent in. like i said, garbageboy stinkman
