this was something i had niggling at the back of my head since late last year. essentially it's a character analysis of tony and his love languages. often it's so easy to claim that tony's most obvious love language is physical touch or gift giving, but consider this: his top love language is actually quality time. sure, he's one of the busiest men in the world, but that's what makes the time he spends on the people he loves all the more precious.

so all the time in his world is a retelling of mcu canonical events (with a bit of divergence so i can ignore the parts i don't like lol) with a stevetony twist, through steve's pov as he starts to get to know tony and understand the things he does and the words he says.

for example:

he wants to go get shawarma with his team not so much because he's interested in the food, but because it's an opportunity for them to bond outside of the battlefield

he tells steve that the reason to fights is so they can end the fight, so they can go home. because at home he can just be with his family, his loved ones, and not worry about the clock ticking down to the world collapsing from an alien invasion

he literally invents time travel for a chance to get back what was once lost, to bring back all the people who are important to them, because what is life without love

that's essentially it! idk if i would ever finish it, but if i get inspired every once in a while i might try to keep adding to the draft i currently have sitting around.

The story begins two years after that, when Tony uses the phone to send Steve a message that reads “January. Vienna”. And the whole story its about them meeting in different cities of the world and that’s the only contact they have with each other. It’s an excuse to write how they start reconnecting with each other and how their relationship evolves (and the cities are very tied to that! that’s why it starts in Vienna in the middle of winter! haha)

So, he’s happy. He’s happy Tony has Pepper Potts now. And Tony is so freaking smitten James truly hopes it is reciprocated, because Tony loves deep and loves hard, and James wants to see that love bloom, if it’s meant to be. He’ll be glad for it.

And some people mind find it weird if they knew, but he won’t mind it.

After all, Tony is still calling him honeybear. James is still Tony’s in a way no one else can be.

They go to the Dodgers game together. And it’s awesome.
