ROTATION 2: CASE FILE

This past weekend a primarily pureblood wizarding neighborhood in Chelsea, suffered an explosive attack that is believed to be the handiwork of the the anti-pureblood group known as the New Blood Order. There were several fatalities and injuries, and while the New Blood Order is the prime suspect of the attack, various departments within the Ministry of Magic and St. Mungo's are hard at work in settling the chaos that this attack has brought on the neighborhood. 

Interns assigned to the case are reminded that all information associated with this case is sensitive material, and while the media does have a good amount of information from their snooping, please do not comment on any inqueries that the press may present, nor do not share any with anyone without proper clearance (employment within the Ministry or St. Mungo's). 

Evidence found at the scene of the crime is as follows: 

The main target of the bombing was a memorial statue in the center of the neighborhood of Damocles Rowle, Rowle was the Minister for Magic from 1718-1726, and was a resident of this village, he is also well known for his anti-muggle stance.

Carved into the side of a nearby home were the words, "Those truly of pure blood will rise from their shackles, as those who live in deceit will pay for their transgressions." This phrase has been used as a signature of sorts from other verified New Blood Order attacks, and it is suspected to be as such.

Witnesses around the neighborhood remember seeing a group of individuals earlier that morning at around 2a.m. Out of all the statements, the group appears to be around ten in number, and presumably they were in plainclothes. Witnesses reported that they were unable to get any good looks at the faces of these suspects, even though they remember no efforts to conceal their faces. It is suspected magic was at work here.

There is one bomb that appears to have been a "dud", it has been taken back to the Department of Magical Technologies for further investigation. 

There were several areas throughout the neighborhood where bombs were successfully set off, but given the level of damage that occurred, it is suspected that both magic and muggle technology was used. It is suggested that only healing and diagnostic spells are to be used at the scene of the crime. Any other sort of magic may trigger any left over artifacts from the explosives.

Morgan and Rose,

 Hey! Jed told me earlier I got a couple interns this rotation, and that you're them. So uh, congrats on that! The Crime Scene Unit is probably one of the funnest places to work at MoM, as long as you're okay with dead bodies and all of course. For my interns I usually have them help me catalog stuff and what not, and show you the ropes of things. Since I got two of you this round, I'm gonna assign Morgan to note taking duty and Rose to picture duty. Don't worry, I'll make sure you both know what to do while we're at a scene. 

On that note, I just got a FLUME earlier from my boss, and it looks like a dead werewolf has been found early this morning. I gotta run down there now and get things started. I'm pretty excited to be honest, I haven't had a wolf case in ages. But yeah, as soon as you both could be there it'd be great. If you can't make it don't worry, there'll be plenty more to do at the lab. If you get stopped by a couple snobby aurors at the scene just tell 'em you're with me and flash 'em your ID cards.

What I'll be grading you guys on this rotation are your notes and photos, and general attentiveness to the job. Once we finish up this case I'll message you with the details of the next one. The life of an analyst is never dull let me tell you!

Castor Harewell

How you choose to do this assignment is completely up to you, but it is advised you do some kind of self or partner para together. When Rose and Morgan get on the scene Castor will be an NPC you both can feel free to use in your writing. We only ask you not to do anything too drastic with him like kill him off or anything of the like. 

At the scene when Castor examines the body, he will commentate what he notices on the body and instruct the two of you to take note of it. Things he will notice will be as follows: 

{A/N: Take caution while reading the bullet points - there are mentions of wounds/'gore' on a dead body.}

Bite marks covering the neck and shoulders of the body. At this observation, Castor will measure the wounds and ask both of you to document this. He will also mention that this appears to be the signs of some kind of fight between two werewolves, due to the location and wolf like nature of the bite wounds. 

Observing the mouth and teeth, Castor will search for some kind kind of identifier that the wolf fought back, such as flesh or hair from the other wolf in his teeth. He will not find anything, and even state how odd that is given the fact the young wolf should have fought back in some form. 

Moving on, Castor then looks at the wolf's nails, looking for evidence of any struggle under them. Once again he finds nothing. At this observation Castor mentions how the body is too clean, and suggests someone has tampered with it to get rid of evidence. It's with this realization that he suspects the wolf was killed in an illegal werewolf fighting ring. If it were just a scuffle between two wolves, he should have found something by now. The absence of any incriminating evidence though, means there was something about this fight that someone didn't want them to know about.

The rest of the information and investigation (on the CSIs' end) can be made up by the two of you. The identity of the young wolf will be found out three days after he is found after they run his DNA through the list of registered werewolves in the area. His identity and criminal background (or lack there of) are your's to make up. Also note, a representative of the Office of Werewolf Security and Welfare has been sent in to look into the investigation, to make sure the case is treated with the amount of care and sensitivity it deserves. Welcome to Ministry Munchies! I'm Daisy! I'm sorry if I'm not here in the back to welcome you, the front is tumultuously busy and golly, it's difficult to get back there with hordes of people out front. 

For now, I'll save the welcoming and training charade for later, but as far as basics goes, I hope you'll enjoy this rotation! As far as tasks go, you'll likely do a variety of tasks like manning the register, recasting heat charms (or cooling charms), maintaining the cleanliness of the shop, counting the till at the end of the day, making sure the pastry shelves are fully stalked, and when we have some time, I'll train you on some basic cooking charms so that way you can help keep some of the treats in stock in the back, and also so you can prepare some of the various caffeinated beverages we offer! And sometimes I'll also be needing you to run some errands! 

Which I may or may not need you to do this morning. ❤ In the back there's a really cute cookie jar with kittens on it on the shelving unit above the mixers! There's a few different sorts of bundles of various types of money in it there - some wizarding, a vault card, a credit card, and some muggle money. Grab the one with the muggle money, and there should also be a grocery list in there! I'm in desperate need for some baking ingredients from muggle Lundun, and I'd be very appreciative of it if you could go fetch those for me! There are specific brands, how much of it (also I think I wrote down three pounds of sugar - scratch that - I need six.), and where you can find the various shops that carry them, and I'll adore you forever if you could go get them. Make sure you tell 'em that you're working for Daisy and they'll give ya a discount! ❤❤ 

There should be enough muggle money there for transportation and costs! Flume the shop if you need anything, dear!

...Daisy is a... cheery lass. Sorry if she makes you vomit. Anyways. Literally nothing gets her down. She'll probably only break down and cry only when baked treats and goods don't come out right. Literally nothing else can stop her from having a terrific, cute, heart and kittens filled day. 

Interns assigned here can perform a variety of tasks listed above, but one we'd specifically like to see covered is that little shopping trip. Seeing them working with customers is always a nice thing to see as well, maybe you could write up that grocery list itself, or perhaps come up with a few various recipes that may be served in Ministry Munchies!

Ms. Kapur, 

As you should already know, you have been assigned to me this rotation for your internship. Unfortunately I am currently in Norway at the moment, working alongside their Minister for Magic in writing a new education bill for Magical Folk. I might be able to meet you on your last couple days of rotation, but unfortunately no sooner. I sincerely apologize for this inconvenience, but not to worry, I was still able to find you a place in our department. 

Earlier this week, I was able to get in contact with my close friend Celia Dennis. She is the head for the Office of Werewolf Security and Welfare. There's a full moon this week, which always is the busiest for that office, so I'm sure your presence will be greatly appreciated. I have given Celia all your information, and she should get in contact with you fairly shortly. If for some reason Celia is unable to do it at the last minute, go to Mr. Ashwinder at the I.M.P Head Quarters and he will give you a new assignment. 

Once again, I sincerely apologize for my not being there for your first rotation. You seem like a lovely woman from what I read in your file, and I hope I get another chance to meet you as you make your rounds around the Ministry.

Later on that evening Aditi receives another letter, this time from Celia Dennis. Ms. Dennis informs Aditi that she is very excited about having Aditi alongside her this rotation, and hopes the department won't be a disappointment for her. She then asks her intern to meet her the next morning at her office at 7a.m. It appears there has been a young werewolf found dead and she will need Aditi to aid her in looking into the investigation. She also informs Aditi that the more notes she takes about the case and what she observes, the better. It will be these notes that the success of Aditi's internship is based on. 

How you handle this assignment is completely up to you. Morgan Greenwell and Rose Blishwick will be the interns working alongside the CSIs on the scene so you can plot with them if you like. Ms. Dennis is also now your NPC to use. You can do whatever you like with her, we only ask you not to do anything drastic such as killing her off. If you have any further questions send them into the Events Blog. If you finish this assignment before the two weeks is up, we will give you another in the same department.
