Today while brainstorming for my next collection I did this little sketch of Cuilcagh Mountain and "The Stairway to Heaven" there. It's really a beautiful hike, I did it a few years ago with the lovely @rionabrady. It was a crazy hot day which was unexpected for Ireland 😂 and after a lot of breaks, cursing 🤬 and Riona's positive coaching we made it to the top and had a lovely picnic. 🥗 I'd definitely recommend it, it's amazing the way the boardwalk has been built over the bogland and up the mountain, but bring lots of water, snacks and don't go on a hot day! 🌞 #imnotfit 😂 ⛰️ I don't look at any photos when I paint my dreamlike landscapes, I like to just imagine new places or the feeling of somewhere I've been or would like to go but instinctively I seem to paint mountains into the scenes.
