Rising 589 metres above Carlingford, the high peak in Co. Louth, Slieve Foye is a fabulous hike and perfect for a day trip! With stunning views into the Irish Sea and the nearby Mourne Mountains opening out as you gain height, it does not disappoint. 

Starting in the streets of Carlingford the landscape develops out to grassy tracks and rocky sections surrounded by heather. With some steep climbs it provides a small challenge for those who want to push themselves to achieve that satisfaction once you reach the peak. Or for those wanting a easier non-summit adventure there is also a loop trail that is equally enjoyable and scenic 

Finishing back in Carlingford for lunch, coffee or sweet treat is the perfect way to celebrate tired legs, muddy boots, and another small step in building confidence, resilience, and a love for the outdoors together.
