Im fairly sure youre the only person who reblogs my fish fits afdhf ❤️❤️❤️
If fish fits have 10,000 fans then i am one of them, if fish fits have one fan then that's me, if fish fits have no fans then I am no longer on this Earth 😌☝️
Hello otherside- or wanderer- I'm not really sure what to call you =w=""
Can I ask what your process for building is? How do u work up the motivation/plan out your builds? Or do u have another process?
Love your work o/
Hi Fish - you can call me Otherside or Wanderer, either one is just fine!
My building process usually depends on why I'm building something. If it's for a building challenge, I do quite a bit of planning. First, I brainstorm ideas from a given prompt, sometimes asking my friends if I'm particularly stuck. Next, I settle on an idea and look up some inspiration or references to help me with my vision for the build - sometimes I'll do a quick sketch to synthesize everything!
When it actually comes to building, I try to pick a block palette and play around with detailed parts I know I might struggle with; this is almost like a bit of practice before I start doing the real build. With my sunflower wheat farm, I had to experiment a ton with curves and circles before committing to petal structures in the final build. This makes large builds less daunting for me, and once I begin feeling comfortable with the blocks and shapes I want to use, I finally start building!
For large-scale builds that aren't for building challenges, I spend a lot of time on brainstorming - I list out things I want in my build and put together something like a mood or vision board of pictures.
As for motivation, I always make sure I'm interested in what I'm building; the last thing I want to do is work on a build I don't connect with or find boring. Breaks are important to me too, so if I notice I'm struggling to work on a build, I play some survival or do something I enjoy that isn't Minecraft!
There are still times I want to build but struggle to make any headway on a project, and when this happens, I break down what's left into a list/outline. I did this for my survival castle village, and I intend to do this for my Chinese landscape painting (still in the works!) but it really helps me organize my thoughts on the build and recognize which parts I'm struggling with the most.
That was a pretty long-winded answer to your ask, so hopefully there are a few good nuggets in there! Thanks for the questions, and it means a lot to hear that a great builder like you loves my work <3
This may be odd for me to say Lode, but I would really like to see your type of industrial builds crossed with organic matter? Like a human eye dominating a factory as part of the architecture idk. Your stuff is just super inspiring lol
ur so right and I've been playing around with that idea just haven't gotten to it! I love the idea of doing something skeletal like something built around a giant pile of bones or ribcage or something. also have wanted to make like a giant robotic somethingorother for ages (less organic but ykwim).
